Tricare does not cover Suboxone doctors or prescription. They will however cover your prescription for Subutex or generic buprenorphine. I pay $10 no matter how many pills are prescribed for generic buprenorphine or Subutex. My doctor personally bills my lab work which is $120 a month two Tricare but I am paying out-of-pocket for the doctor's visit. VA will not do anything where I am. But I know and very few VA sites there are doctors prescribing Suboxone good luck finding them.

Hey! I'm on tricare standard. I was referred to pain management out in town. My dr has been awesome. I was on morphine and Oxys for like 9 years. On Jan 23, 2017 my dr said what I was taking could've killed a grown man. He suggested suboxone. I had to go through 24 hours of withdrawals then came to the office where they gave me subs and checked my vitals for two days. I'm in love with these, they don't make you feel high but it takes away the sweats and pain for me. And I'm happy as a whistle. Now that my "withdraw" is over I'm now on 60 total films a month. I get the 8mg 2 mg films. And I'm in heaven. I feel normal for once in a long time. I never want to go back to pills ever again. Over the years Drs just kept throwing them at me and I ended up being addicted. Not by fault. But I became highly dependent. I take one strip in the morning when I start to feel the sweats come on and then when it kicks in I'm good for hours, and then at night same thing, but I take it before my shower so no sweats come and if so it washes off. And it helps me sleep. My insurance DOES cover my Dr visits and meds. I only pay like 20$ a month to the pharmacy out in town cause the base doesn't have them. But that's ok with me. I'm clean and sober if you want to call it that; now.. and I'm happy. Have energy to do what I have to. I have done more work on these then I ever thought on pills. if you can get on subs. Do it, its life changing. Good luck to all..
