I suffer from Meniere's disease. I took Triamterene for a week and both times when I took with Meclizine, I had either a vertigo attack and last night I fainted. Does anybody know any interactions between these 2 medications?

Re: REG (# 2)
My dad is in a similar situation. He has been suffering from Vertigo for a while now and doctor prescribed him water pill Triamterene and also Meclizine for the dizziness and nausea. His blood pressure is also on the lower end. Most recently about 2 weeks ago, he was walking and felt light headed and warm/flush feeling in his body and his heart was racing.
He went to ER and now they are doing a lot of heart related tests because of that incident.
Has anyone ever been through similar symptoms or situation. I’m just curious to see if the 2 medications could cause such heart issues. He does take take the meds at the same time sometimes.
Also, any other experiences to help relieve symptoms of vertigo?
How do you deal with your attacks? Do you feel them coming or just out of no where? I'm diagnosed with Meneer'sDisease and take Promethazine now but tryed everything else under that catorgy. When I get an attack I take 2 pills and force myself to sleep. But even then I could wake up with it. No one knows it's the worst feeling in the world I don't wish it upon my worst enemy!!
Hi: My doctor just prescribed Triamterene for my dizziness and possible Meniere's or vestibulary migraine and I also take meclizine when needed. My blood pressure is at the lower end. Maybe this is why Antonio fainted. My doctor said he was prescribing the water pill to see if I have excess fluid in my ears which may be causing my dizziness or imbalance. I am skeptical about it helping, but always look up interactions before using any new drug and even aspirin or ibuprofen can have an interaction with Triamterene. Scary.
Hello, Antonio! How are you?
I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these medications, but it is always best to double check to be sure.
The vertigo and fainting may be due to the Meniere's itself, according to the NIH, it can cause those symptoms, in some people that take it.
Is there anything else I can help with?
