Triamterene/hctz And Stenosis
UpdatedHello, I have stenosis of the left and right ICA. The left is 75% blocked and right 50% blocked. I possibly have Moyamoya, as well.(Hence the stenosis) My family doctor just switched me to this combo because after being on 50MEQ of potassium, I finally reached a normal level range of potassium. Is this something I should revisit with my doctor? I can't afford anymore narrowing! They are still trying to figure me out.

Hello, Sheryl! How are you?
I've not found anything listed in the side effects provided by the FDA that says this medication may cause more narrowing. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dehydration and increased urination.
Have you consulted a cardiologist?
