My 52 yrs young husband is highly allergic to anything containing Sulfur and any shellfish. Just today he was prescribed Trazodone 50mg for his insomnia and depression. He also has a family history of bipolar disorder, liver disease, heart disease, as well as other medical problems on his side of the family. I have spent the past five hours pouring over every site I could find that have any information on the above named drug, but I have not been able to find anything detailed about allergy warning other than, "Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to trazodone or any other medicines. I just wanted to know what it was because my friend said it would help me me sleep at night easier. But I'm not going to take it until I absolutely know what it is. ## This tablet contains 100mgs of Trazodone, the active ingredient in Desyrel, it is an SARI antidepressant, it can cause drowsiness as a side effect, so it is sometimes used to treat insomnia. However, it can adversely react with some other medications, so it isn't advisable to take it, if it has not been prescribed for you and you do not have a doctor's approval. i read some of the side effects of trazodone it says may cause weight gain or loss.wondering if anyone hasnt been able to loose weight while talking this? i had gastric bypass 4yrs ago and they gave me one that kept me from loosing so they switched it and now am wondering if this is hindering me also.anyone had this problem or can tell me anything? thanks ## trazadone100mg 434 plivia info please

also it is a sleeping pill called triasydone 100mg ## round white pill novo on one side 100 on the other supposed to be triasydone a sleeping pill ## I can't locate this pill to confirm that, however, Trazodone is not a sleeping pill. I was prescribed Trazodone to help me sleep, It doesn't seem to be working. What should my side effects include? ## Only you and your doctor can know if Trazodone is right for you. That is why it was prescribed to you among various other alternatives, correct? The most common adverse reactions encountered are drowsiness, nausea/vomiting, headache and dry mouth.
