My husband has artheritis and is taking tramadol twice a day (50mg.) his dr. said he would take one every 4 hrs but he doesn't, so maybe that's why it does not help the pain very much... can he also take orycodine/500ms. acetaminphen with the tramadol ## Hello, Lillie! How is your husband doing? Before trying to add other medications, on your own, he needs to try taking it as prescribed, for awhile to see if that helps his pain. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks!!!!!!But if it doesn't help, could he possibly taker the two together....

I was prescribed tramadol five years ago for osteoarthritis in both knees. Took the prescribed amount for almost three years and then started menopause. Tramadol helped so much with all of the symptoms of the menopause, I started to take more and more. The first time I went without was the worst time of my life. I can handle the physical stuff but the depression and feeling that there is nothing to look forward to horrific. The depression that came with the menopause was the reason I started all this. So, headed to withdrawl again with the new laws. Please only words of kindness! I am experiencing all the guilt and shame I can handle! Thanks ## Hello, Mickey! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the situation you've found yourself in. Have you informed your doctor? That would...

I have just gotten my CDL license and I have taken 2 urine test in the past month, I passed both of them since I don't use drugs. My girlfriend has lupus so she has a couple of different pain relievers which include tramadol. I knew I would be taking DOT physical so I began working out and running again in June. I have experienced 2 knee surgeries as well as breaking my lower left leg so the running made my knee sore one day 6/20-24/2014 not sure the exact day so I took one tramadol. Can I still pass a DOT hair sample test if I only took one pill so long ago?

They have taken my tramadol away. What can I take in its place for long term use. I have severe hip pain and without the tramadol I don't know what I'm going to do ## Hello, Katie! How are you? I'm sorry, but who has taken it away and why was it done? It's difficult to help, without knowing more specifics on the situation. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. There are many other analgesics available. What causes your hip pain?

This is the first message I have ever left in a Tramadol forum so I apologize if it isn't in the right location. I just wanted to tell a little about my story. I have been addicted to Tramadol for the last 4 years. My doctors assured me that it was not addictive and was a great option for my pain. I have had multiple surgeries on my knee and have chronic pain and for a while the Tramadol did help. But it didn't take long before I realized that I also like the way that I felt when I took it. As time went on the dose didn't do it for me so I kept taking more and more. For the last few months I was up to 40 -45 of them a day. It was a constant struggle to keep myself supplied and was costing me a small fortune. Other than my addiction my life is great. I own a successful busine...

Tramadol is becoming a controlled substance by Aug. 14 2014 - no more US pharmacy sites will carry it. Better find overseas pharmacy ## I would really be surprised if this is true.I would never order anything from overseas.if it were controlled doesn't mean US pharmacies wouldn't carry it. ## When all states make is a schedule 4 (C-IV), you'll still be able to get it with a prescription. ## why would anyone take this 'non-pain reliever' really worthless ## You're absolutely right, it's about as worthless as taken an Aleve. ## Tramadol will become a Schedule IV in all states, effective August 18, 2014. A dr can write a prescription for it or call it in. ## BL is correct. Ultram aka tramadol will become a scheduled drug in August of this year. It will be a C-IV...

Is fast becoming a low grade but definite controlled substance. Have there been many cases of over dose? Deaths? Why is this happening? Back in the day you could order narcotics from Sears catalog. And buy tramadol over the counter. I'm not saying this is responsible for this day in age of course, but there just seems to be so much over control. I'm not speaking for all, just this particular medication. It has potential dependence not so much abuse. And so what I don't drink. Don't smoke.hate that, ew. Just put it behind the counter and ask for an I.d. 21 and older. ## Hello, BluLotus! How are you? I understand what you're saying, but Tramadol does have addictive potential, plus there have been cases of overdose. While it seems like a rather benign mild medication, i...

Can you use Watson 3202 instead of tramadol ? ## Hi Gypsy, Because these are two completely different prescriptions (one containing a narcotic and one not), I'd honestly recommend discussing this with your doctor before moving forward with something new like Watson 3202. From what I've researched, the 5mg Hydrocodone + 325mg Acetaminophen Watson is regarded as being much stronger than Tramadol. So that's also something to keep in mind when you do decide that it's time to switch. I hope this helps! ## Thank you. It was for my dog Daisy that was bitten by a copperhead snake. She is doing well without any pain meds, thank God! Thank you so much

Before I start, I would like to thank the person that responds to this. I have looked online for recommendations, with no success. I won't bore you with the details. I just didn't know where to turn and everyone (most everyone) is so helpful and knowledgeable ## I dont know where you live but in Oklahoma to get anything more than tramadol you have to see a pain specialist and he has to be reffered by a pcp. ## Hello, Jam! How are you? Thank you, Trish, for your response. I just want to let everyone know that this is applicable to all states. If anyone requires long-term, ongoing treatment for chronic pain, they'll need to see a pain management specialist. Jam, what is your general location? This information may enable someone to suggest a good doctor in your area.

I am looking for tramadol for my back pain ## Hello, Chaly! How are you? I'm sorry, but this website does not manufacture, prescribe, nor sell any medications, it is an information only resource. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What is causing your back pain?

Hey all out there... I have a private matter... am desperate... not used to this but suffering.0 ## Tramadol help... ## Hi BluLotus, Sorry to hear about your suffering. You mentioned that you had a private matter regarding Tramadol. Reading between the lines I'm curious to know if this has anything to do with Tramadol becoming a Schedule IV controlled substance on August 18th? What I don't understand though is how that might inhibit legitimate pain patients from obtaining or filling their scripts like any other drug? It doesn't seem to be nearly as dangerous/potent as the likes of Fentanyl or Demerol, but some people do say it's nothing to take lightly either. ## Hey David, Thanks for your response. Last night I was in a desperate place... Don't laugh I'm really ...

I want to know if an 627 helps back pain like a m357 ## Hi rebecca, I can't speak for everyone since both of these medications tend to effect each person differently. But in regards to their individual potency, Tramadol is often touted as a much weaker pain medication than your typical narcotic, such as Norco (M357). Comments from other people have also mentioned that Tramadol should probably be considered an over-the-counter medication relative to the dose. If you haven't tried either medication yet, it may be best to talk to your doctor first about giving each of them a trial run, to see how your body responds. Usually the weaker meds are easier to taper off in the long run, so I can only assume that Tramadol would likely be a good candidate to start out with until you can rea...

My boyfriend was given tramadol and tested positive for opiates. Is this possible and why? Then he was given the medication forcibly by medical staff where he is located. Can this cause for him to act intoxicated and/or high? ## Tramadol will NOT show up as an opiate. If it was an opiate it would be a controlled substance for all states. Vicodin, OxyContin, etc are opiates and narcotics and will show up on a drug test. Tramadol is a synthetic opiate. Basically man made chemicals that affect opioid receptors in the brain. They can test for Tramadol on toxicology/overdose reports but they don't test for it on standard drug tests. Tramadol can get you intoxicated if you take enough. I believe other than pain the reason people use it is as an anti-depressant. Tramadol effects your serot...

I took them for my knee but forgot to tell them this and am afraid it will keep me from getting the job. What should i do? Should I call them and let them know or just wait until they get ahold of me? ## Tell them my boyfriend got tested and he came up positive for opiates.

is anyone finding that this situation has gotten better? ## The shortage of Tramadol started because of the huge drug bust in HellrtownPa.It is the pharmacy that was dispensing pills to online pharmacies. It was totally illegal.I have been prescribed Tramadol for a torn lateral ligament since 2006.I tried to stop but i was getting cramps in my legs and the d't's.The pharmacies that are supplying Tramadol are charging outrageous amts of money.I cant afford it.I have a pharmacy, very reliable that ships next day, very loyal but they have increased 40 $ in 2 weeks for 50mg/120ct,total $145 PLUS11.95 for COD.not too bad.I will not pay $199 FOR 90 pills. That is taking total advantage.Try cutting back and use in moderation. They are greta for bad and keep my mood even.I wish evryone luck....

Hi there. I have been prescribed Tramal Retard 100gm twice a day. I suffer from chronic pain from arthritis and degenerative disk disease throughout my spine. I develop stomach ulcers so cant take NSAIDS. I had terrible side effects with Lyrica and Gabapentin. I currently take Vasomil for super ventricular tachycardia and take Immovaine for sleep at night. I am only41 and can't take living in pain anymore. However I am scared to try the Tramadol too because of possible side effects. Will it interact with my current meds? Do lots of people get bad side effects? I had nausea medication 7 hours ago. Will this react with the Tramal?

My doctor took me off 10MG supradol and put me to 10MG Statex. I am in really bad withdrawal from the switch after 30 hours. I have 7 supradol left he is not in for 5 days. Should I go back to the supradol and stop the statex for now. Sorry to ask but I really need to know what to do. I feel like a druggie for asking but I need to know this is nuts. ## Hello, Stephen! How are you? What dosage were you on of the Tramadol? The 10mg Statex is probably not quite enough to be equivalent. It contains Morphine. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. But you shouldn't go back to the other one, without your doctor's approval, it would also basically be startin...

I am getting good results re. the anti-inflammatory effects from the Indomethacin but I simply cannot bear the nausea and stunning effects of this drug - or are these the effects of the Apo-Tramadol/Acet? I would like to continue taking this drug. Will the side-effects continue if I take the stop taking the Tramadol? ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and it is very well known for being rough on the stomach, so it is the most likely culprit. However, rather than stop it, you could check with your doctor about taking some type of antacid with it to prevent the stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My brother passed away two years ago from a Tramadol overdose. He had a 15mg of Tramadol per ltr. of blood. He weighed about 205 lbs and was about 6 feet tall. Is there any way to determine how many Ultram ER 100 pills he would have had to take to reach this level? A guess or estimate of a range would be helpful. ## Hi Bob I am very sorry to hear about your brother. The average human body contains between 5 and 6 liters of blood, so if we assume that your brother had 5.5 liters of blood in his body then that would equal out to approx 82.5mg of Tramadol. That actually does not sound outside the normal range based on a 100mg extended release dosage. Are you sure it was 15mg per liter? I also hope that I did not make a mistake with my calculations. Could it also be that he had a bad reacti...

What makes tramadol a narcotic if there's no opiets or opioids in it? I'm confused... ## Tramadol is not a narcotic,it just effects certain receptors in your brain fooling your body to think it is narcotic LIKE. Tramadol is non narcotic. it is not made from opium. Have a great day God bless.Rocket666. ## Hello, Emmie! How are you? Tramadol is derived from a narcotic. It was actually created, when some medical research scientists were trying to create a medication that would be as effective as an opiate narcotic, but not have the same side effects and addictive tendencies. However, what they ended up with was a moderate analgesic that still carries all the same risks. It can be habit forming and may cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, depression of the centr...
