Anyone else experiencing this side effect? Not a normal topic of discussion for me with anyone but my doctor. I found this drug to be very helpful with easing pain, no sedating effect, BUT after taking this medication discovered I was unable to acheive orgasm. It took me a while to figure out it was the Tramadol causing the problem.

I love Tramadol, but it kills libido and ability to reach orgasm.

I am so glad i found this site because my boyfriend is on thus and i hate to say i thought he didn't want me anymore...but my question is..he is now off the medication...his problem was he would lose his erection during sex...how long before it's back to normal....he was not on this need but a few weeks

I have never had sexual dysfunction from opiates and have
been prescribed oxycodone,morphine, Vicodin,oxymorphone, fentanyl,etc for yrs. I am now just taking Tramadol and having sexual side effects. Does anyone know that Tramadol has ssri properties also? (antidepressant) I believe this is the cause. I have had the same problem with other antidepressants. I don't take ssri's anymore. they are also addicting.That gives Tramadol double addictive property's.

Tramadol is a very weak μ-opioid receptor agonist, induces serotonin release, and inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine.[3][4] Tramadol is converted to O-desmethyltramadol, a significantly more potent μ-opioid agonist. The opioid agonistic effect of tramadol and its major metabolite(s) is almost exclusively mediated by such μ-opioid receptors. This further distinguishes tramadol from opioids in general (including morphine), which do not possess tramadol's degree of receptor subtype selectivity and which are much stronger opiate-receptor agonists. Similarly, the habituating properties of tramadol (such as they are) are arguably mainly due to μ-opioid agonism with contributions from serotonergic and noradrenergic effects.

I get bigger hard on's with tramadol, it takes longer to cum but when I do, I explode, more sperm. I wish my wife swallowed, she lets it drool out. Any ideas on how i can make her swallow?

I was on tramadol for around 7 years and the longer I was on it the more my libidos dropped and I thought I'd never achieve orgasm again! I came off it 4 days ago and my libido is very much returning as is my ability to orgasm. Tramadol is an evil drug and the withdrawals are horrendous.

Great to run into this discussion. I have the same problem. Been to my primary doctor, 2 urologists, and another doctor and not one of them pointed to the tramadol.
Besides what others are describing I also have been having retrograde ejaculations. Basically, nothing comes out (some men practice for this and use it as birth control, I think it's irritating and anti-climatic). Anyone else?

tramadol after 3 days has made it were my husband cant get off will be calling the doctor tomorrow morning at first i thought it was me so frusterting that this is happening going for 2 hrs and nothing

i have been taking tramadol for about a yr now and i also get that feeling, like as soon i take it about 30min later i feel the need to really have sex and i can go for hours! but i do have one weird side effect, if i miss a dose or don't take it i experience non stop yawning! has that happened to anyone?

just experienced the same side effect. not being able to achieve orgasm during sex. this was second dose, one pill yesterday and one today for moderate pain.

Tramadol definitely affects my ability to have an orgasm. I can go A LOT longer if I'm on Tramadol and when I do have an orgasm it is usually longer and much more intense.

This is true whether I masterbate or have sex with a partner.

I, myself have been taking tramadol and it has caused me to not achieve a orgasm. I tried to explain to my wife but... I'm being looked at, as if I'm up to no good. I'm so happy to know I'm not alone in this matter.

my boyfriend has been taking Tramadol for a very long time. He has experienced issues with obtaining and maintaining an erection. It is very frustrating for us...and I am glad I found this site....Now I feel better knowing that it isn't me! I have encouraged him to look into this. Thanks for your post.

I have noticed also that if I masturbate I can go pretty quick, Even on Tramadol. Having sex my penis gets erect but then I can just all of a sudden lose it. It's frustrating.
There has been a few times while masturbating that it went limp but I was still able to get off. Weird Stuff. I one had been subscribed some depression medicine and it did the same thing so I told the doctor and he switched and the new med made me go like a teenager. 1 minute maybe less.... I went back to the other.

I am Male 47 years old and have been taking Tramadol for 4 years now. I did notice I could not orgasm in the beginning but as time went by I was able to sometimes but always needed my wife to finish me cause I was too tired. I hate that effect so much. It;s great for pain.
