Tramadol - Unable To Acheive Orgasm (Page 11) (Top voted first)
UpdatedAnyone else experiencing this side effect? Not a normal topic of discussion for me with anyone but my doctor. I found this drug to be very helpful with easing pain, no sedating effect, BUT after taking this medication discovered I was unable to acheive orgasm. It took me a while to figure out it was the Tramadol causing the problem.
I am 45 years old and recently used Tramadol to increase the time of intercourse but i found a sharp decrease in my sex drive. I found no other factor involved in that except this tramadol.
Have been taking tramadol for 2 years for pain associated with trapped nerve in upper spine . Severe loss of ability to orgasm as soon. Stopped taking as I found other worrying side effects and ability to obtain orgasm returned within 4 days . have decided to put up with pain now and not return to tramadol.
DO NOT TAKE TRAMADOL IT MESSES UP UR SEX ;LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im so glad i found this site, i too have been on Tramadol for over 3 years and have not had any sexual desire since then, i put it down to a number of things but didn't consider my medication which is Tramadol tabs 8 a day and co-codamol 30/500, i too have multiply disc compressions, a squashed spinal canal and arthritis of my spine so don't know what else to try ???lucky i have an understanding female partner so its not so difficult to explain my feelings, thanks for the help
For me the safest and most accessible drug is marijuana. It is unbelievable an a sex enhancer. Just another reason for the makers of viagra to be opposed to legalization.
Yep, tramadol sucks when trying to get off if you're a guy. Even if you're on 500mg/week of testosterone, you can't get off. I would mention it to my doc and see if there is anything that you can use that will help. I'd try Saw Palmetto, and also maybe suggest cabergoline to your doctor and see what he says.
Agree to some degree with Honestman above.... I am a 47 year old male who take this drug for joint pain & infrequent severe headaches. I am a highly sexual person anyway who can achieve climax in from 5 to 10 minutes or anywhere in between pretty much at will......except when under the influence of this drug, then it will take 20 minutes plus which my wife is not so fired up about since she generally climaxes much earlier and becomes sore in the 20 minute zone.....
I'm no doctor, but this drug has got to be a cure for premature ejaculators......
I am Male 47 years old and have been taking Tramadol for 4 years now. I did notice I could not orgasm in the beginning but as time went by I was able to sometimes but always needed my wife to finish me cause I was too tired. I hate that effect so much. It;s great for pain.
Tramadol definitely affects my ability to have an orgasm. I can go A LOT longer if I'm on Tramadol and when I do have an orgasm it is usually longer and much more intense.
This is true whether I masterbate or have sex with a partner.
72 hours after last dose libido will begin to resume normal function.
I switch off from Tramadol and then I switch about 24 hours before to Percaset. And that usually makes it do-abel. But I would like to try this new stuff that was mentioned.
bro, don't be ashamed that your dependent on a drug that's designed to help you..
be happy you're alive and seek BETTER medical assistance, get better medicine, and you can live a better life with a lot less complications..
It is definitely the Tramadol! suggest to your doctor that you'd like to take an alternative drug to resolve whatever your issue may be because of the tramadol's side affects...
I don't know why it's not CLEARLY stated that this particular problem is indeed affect...& it's not that you have a low sex drive, but you can't achieve an erection to save your life.
Nonetheless, if you stop taking Tramadol for I say a good 24-48 hours, the affects should wear off and this problem should no longer occur.
Hope this answered your question!
Opposite effect on me! I know when I cant get a strong erection like taking cold meds or allergy meds. I swear Tramadol makes me very hard like I am on Viagra. I have been with a few different women and have lasted for a very long time. I have actually taken it before sex just so I can get very hard.
Now I will say that it is harder to reach orgasm....but I am able to do it...even if I am alone masterbating it takes longer. I can usually last for hours but on the meds I have to concentrate more on cumming.
smoke cannabis seriously it works just as good for pain and doesn't have this side effect and I am suffering this side affect right now and I found this page seeing if tramadol does this but seriously find some cannabis even if it isn't legal in your state as long as its a small amount and you don't smoke in public or take it out of your house you will be fine.. rule of thumb with cops they don't want to come bust you if you make sure you keep it in your house and you aren't selling it..i know because of many past experiences and I live in texas so if that's what they say here don't worry because its notoriously unforgiving here.
Hi , definitely it does affect you I know it's not just orgasm also the feeling to have sex go very low to nothing the other thing it's very addicted, some say it's not but my wife and I have the same problem. For my low back help a lot but if you stop taking you feel strange feeling of pain so uncomfortable and it's terrible. Unfortunately I've got chronic pains and other pain killer doesn't work like tramal it does help a lot with pain.
As a Matter of fact, YES... WTH? i Spent almost 4 hours trying... and this was only the 2nd day after starting use. the first day i managed to. but the second... impossible. It was almost as if the nerve endings in that area just were not relaying Sensation..
Totally not true, for all Borderline Personality Disorder persons are not the same. I do admit that what works for one person, may not for another. Tramadol is the Best, and only medication that has ever helped me with BPD. It has literally saved my life. It has an SSRI effect, along with the Central Nervous System altering properties. It helps to minimize the ups and downs, and takes away most of the constant fear, and worry that I experienced before taking it. I figured out early on, that for me, less is better. 50mg a day is all it takes. I initially started out taking 200 mg. a day, and after about 2 weeks, I stopped experiencing the effect. So I thought, maybe the dosage was causing me to build up a tolerance like ALL narcotics do. So, instead of abandoning the medication, I decided to try to minimize the dosage, and to my surprise, it kicked back in, and in fact, the effect is better than at the beginning. What other narcotic medication works better at a low dosage? Maybe it's my particular metabolism, or genetics, but all I know is it has made the difference between me being completely insane, and functioning as close to a normal person, as I could have ever hoped for. Obviously what works for me, might not for the next person, but we shouldn't make the broad statement that it doesn't work for ANY person suffering with BPD.
My doctor prescribed me tramadol/tramacet. I got less aroused by day 3 using it. When i got an erection it did not last long. I felt a bit aroused and suddenly all the sensitivity was as if it disappeared. Also when i felt to a degree my arousal building up, suddenly there was just nothing and no aroused feelings.
