Tramadol By Amneal Vs Mylan (Page 4)
UpdatedAll our pharmacies here have switched to amneal, which doesn't do a thing except give a headache. The brand does make a difference. The mylan works great.
I reported Amneal to the FDA maybe 2 years ago. I've never heard back from them. I have gone as far as going back to the original ultram by McNeil. Guess what. They don't work the same either. I BELIEVE THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER changed the formula. IMHO. They will not admit to it. I called them as well. My conditions for needing this script DOES NOT MATTER. What matters is the fact the they are playing with our lives...worse our sanity. They have bastardized our food supply and our meds. Is THIS population control? GMO's, antibiotics to animals, all of this is just making us sick making PHARMA more important. Take control of your life. Watch your food intake. Try meditation and soft yoga for pain. I'm going to. I AM GOING TO TAKE CONTROL OF MY HEALTH AND LIFE BACK. To Abigail and ALL others here, I FEEL YOUR PAIN. I'm suffering too. Health and healing to all!!!
I learned how to take care of my life. I demand Caraco tramadol. It works for me. I started on Zydus three years ago, and took so many I thought that was how it was. I switched pharmacies, and first had Caraco brand. Then they gave be Amneal, and I was in trouble. Then I got Mylan. That did not work either. Then I got Caraco again, and learned that worked best for me. I also added 150 mg Lyrica five months ago, and for the first time in 15 years I can sleep long stretches at night. I have been on a gfcf diet for over three years, no four-legged animal meats, and do a care regimen that makes me feel powerful for longer stretches. I like your post in caps. We are.
Not even the original works. I paid over $350 for the McNeil.....They changed something and won't admit it or the i****s I'm getting on the phone have no clue of the severity of the issue. They are all kids on the phone, no matter how high up the later I go. I'm DONE with battling for ultram. I'm trying to get over the pain with patches. I'll go for lidocaine inj's. if I must. Happy Healing to all.
I am very sensitive to casein, and luckily no symptoms of that lurking in the tramadol generics I have had. I am sensitive to lactose, but luckily symptoms less severe than yours. I wish they would leave the lactose ingredients out, even if the pills were grainy, or slimy, or crumbly, whatever reason they use lactose for.
sorrybut i have had terrible results with Mylan; thought i was developing a tolerance as it wasn't working then my pharmacy sent PAR and that worked better. Ultram-tramadol worked best for me.
If this is OK, or if I am repeating myself, please excuse me. My dentist told me 20 years ago brand name Percodan worked better than generics. Then the brand name became unavailable. He was correct, I found as generic Percodan took longer to work, and did not seem to reach a peak pain relief level.
I never have had brand name Ultram. I was told that is not available either.
I have news for you. I have the McNeal-Janssen. Original manuf. I paid $350.00 for 3 mos. 270 tabs and. THEY DON'T WORK. They changed the formula. That's why NONE of them work. I tecently tried Nucynta and that doesn't work. Move on. I'm sorry we are all suffering because someone at the top decided to CHANGE the formula. End of STORY. Happy hesling to all
I know you wrote this awhile back but, THANK YOU. This. THIS MUST be the reason my Tramadol has not worked in years. I was first put on it over 17 years ago. It worked great back then and in small doses. I only needed about 50mgs to 100mgs per day. One pill would last 8-12 hours. I have been on and off of it, sometimes for long stretches being off of it, so it's not due to a tolerance that it no longer works like it once did. Now, it works terribly, giving only a slight relief for my pain and RLS, plus I get a weird side effect in my throat and chest, a strange sensation, when I take it. This never happened before. I have wondered if they changed the formula for the last 5 or more years now, then I read your comment here and now it all makes sense.
I looked at the fine print on my bottle just now, and it says, "AMNEAL". Then I looked up that manufacturer; lo and behold, it is indeed from India!!!! You have just helped to answer so many questions for me about why my Tramadol just hasn't been the same. This makes me VERY angry, to say the least. This is an abomination and a gamble on our bodies. This is a charlatan move, in my opinion. I don't know how much power we have to demand the original Tramadol (and other medications) made in the U.S., but I hope the word gets out. I get my prescription from Kroger, here in Michigan, and am going to start calling around to ask other pharmacies which manufacturers they get their Tramadol from. Thank you again.
I have problems with the AMNEAL formula too. I have severe spinal stenosis, and osteoarthritis, and Mortens neuroma on both feet (which cause great pain & burning after walking a little while), I also have distorted vision which unbalances me. When I was first diagnosed with stenosis I was prescribed hydrocodone, but it caused loopiness so I asked for them to change it to Ultracet which I had taken about 4 years earlier for a broken foot metatarsal. I asked for it because it did not cause that loopy "high" that codones cause. I was eventually switched to Tramadol because insurance didn't pay for name brand, at this time Amneal was the Tramadol brand. At first it was ok, but after a while something started drastically changing in the formula and every prescription started causing horrible symptoms. One month it would cause weird mood changes from depression to anxiety, or no feelings to feelings of anger and animosity, another month it caused heart palpitations, and weird headaches. These things still happen but when I asked the pharmacist he brushed it off, and when I asked for a different pain med we tried a few that were useless, and another few that were codones which just caused a different kind of after affect symptoms. I have been hearing people complain about generic drugs failing to give the relief that they were prescribed for an I'm wondering if the FDA is doing any investigation into the formula changes that generic manufacturers are making in the drugs they are selling to America's patients. For people like us with chronic pain we need our medication to work, without further incapacitating us with depression, anxiety, heart palpitations, etc. Clonidine is another generic that has changed enough to interfere with normal activity because whenever I take the new generic brand (as needed only) it causes severe drowsiness. If I take it at night it takes half of the following day to shake it off, and this is at the lowest dose. But Amneal has probably become one of the worse brands for Tramadol. If I knew of a better brand I would try to find it. Has anyone written to the FDA or Amneal about this? I would join up if a few of us get together to write to them, or the FDA. I'll probably call them anyway.
I have been taking Tramadol for years and haven't had any adverse side effects until I picked up my latest Rx from Rite Aid. I was given the Amneal brand generic Tramadol which gives me nausea and a terrible spaced out feeling. I was taking the Teva brand before with no side effects. Now I'm stuck with this Amneal Rx. I'm not going back to Rite Aid. They never tell me when they have switched generic brands. It's a shame that all generic brands are different. I don't think the FDA cares one bit!
I've been on tramadol for 5 years (mylan m-t7) which worked fine, then changed to another brand (677). I went online and found out what's in tramadol: Antidepressants, poppy from china, ibuprofen, codeine, synthetic subs from opium poppy, mirlax, lactose, synthetic analog of codeine. Those side effects they list they don't tell u that the additives and fillers in tramadol cause the problem. If you're allergic to most of them you're in trouble. I've been itchy from the scalp for over a year and a half. I'm lactose intolerant. Look it up on the mfg and see what they are putting in tramadol and u will see like me why it's not working and the danger to people like me who didn't know because doctors don't find out what's in the fillers. Instead of saying what the effects are they should tell you what the fillers are, which a lot of people cant take.
Wow, Treva works really well for me but I was wondering about other brands such as Sun, Eeva, & North star. Does anyone know anything about these brands?
Hi i am a long time tramadol user. And i move to P.A and i been looking for a mylan and amneal tramadol but i can not find. Please if some one know? That will help me tanks
Hi am recently move to PA, and i can not find the mylan and amneal if some one know that can help me thanks
I am pulling my hair out trying to find a pharmacy that will bring in tramadol Teva manufacturer. Other brands will set me off in a flare. Teva is the only one that works. Please help. I am living in Orlando Fl.
The FDA has to do some kind of quality control check of the overseas manufacturers of Tramadol and other drugs. As a person who has constant pain from damaged nerves, back, osteo arth., etc., I "chose" to take Ultram/Tramadol because I can't handle the "high" from codones. In about 2010 I started getting Tramadol prescribed and at that point it did exactly what it needed to, killed the pain, with little to no bother from dizziness, sleepiness, equilibrium problems, etc. But shortly after this the FDA reclassified it, and everything about it changed. One month I got a prescription that caused depression, the next sleepiness, or anxiety, animosity toward others, etc. My alternative was morphine, so I decided to take the tramadol along with antidepressants and naprosyn. Other people complaining about their other scripts, causing similar problems. Since then I found out that the overseas manufacturers are using substandard ingredients, probably in the fillers, and maybe poor substitutes for main ingredient. I recently decided to buy Ultram instead of Tramadol to check if there was a difference between the, and there was a HUGE difference. I didn't get any weird side effects, and I could take LESS, and didn't have to take as many naprosyn. Now I'm wondering if our government requested changes in the manufacturing of certain medications because my Lyrics has started causing a deep sleepiness similar to a narcotic/codone side effect. The Clonidine has started doing the same thing. So I can't take them according to script because I would stay asleep for days. I tried talking to the pharmacist but they don't seem to care.
My CVS carries teva. Thats where i get mine filled. I live in Hagerstown md.
Re: Kathleen (# 68)
My pharmacy was great when I requested a different generic...they got Teva and it worked much better than what they had. You can always request a different generic when they next order. Some pharmacies will believe you and change. Good luck.
Just came to read about Tramadol because it seems that lately my scripts don’t work well enough. I don’t really think everyone should be doing all this complaining, just change don’t complain, too little is done about complaints, but when large numbers of people stop spending money on a particular product they notice and adjust. Just change, together, for the right reasons.
It's now January 2018 and my pharmacy switched to Amneal from Mylan. I had used Amneal a few years ago and found it did nothing for me (not even a headache lol). I had to take two of the Mylan to get any relief so the meds went quickly at 2 per day (it keeps me up at night so I only take it in the morning. Long story short, I'm finding the Amneal now being much better than the Mylan brand. They must have reformulated and I'm very happy about that.
