Marijuana + Tramadol + Hash + Neurontin...none of it kills the pain completely. I am going to a neurologist, shortly, for further follow up on my fractured skull and spine. My physician said that Tramadol is NOT addictive, too, BUT, I stopped taking it for a day to see how I would feel, to see if I could notice a difference and all I noticed was EXTREME WITHDRAWAL symptoms. I guess all we can do is the best we can do. I am about to turn 62 shortly and after having survived a heart attack and two heart surgeries, along with a host of other things, I guess I should just be grateful I am alive and breathing; hm? Take care.

I found absolutely NO relief with Tramadol. The heavier narcotics are just that: narcotics and they only cover up the underlying problems. So: I am completely off all pain medications but have been increased on neuro muscular medications in hopes this will reduce the inflammation and help alleviate the extensive pain from previous spinal fractures. Surgical intervention is no longer an option for me. I don't like mucking up my life with narcotics for pain. I start back in physical therapy on Monday. The more we can stay away from these heavy drugs, the better off we will be. I absolutely do believe that. I take lexapro for my depression and two separate tryptilene medications. So far, so good.

You should ALWAYS use the same Pharmacy for all of your medications even the over the counter meds. Physicians prescribe, HOWEVER, They often make mistakes. I am a Nurse Practitioner. I ALWAYS, always, trust my Pharmacist. HE/SHE, are the ones who specialize in contraindications, interactions, allergies, etc.... NEVER, ASK THE DOCTOR. TRUST THE PHARMACIST ONLY, oh, and make sure to ask to speak to the Pharmacist ONLY, not the pharmacy tech, or the Pharmacy intern. SPEAK TO THE PHARMACIST ONLY.

There are a lot of armchair doctors giving bad and wrong information on this site. But I will answer this one as rightly as possible. Tramadol is an opioid that works on the mu receptors. It is a prodrug in that it works initially in its pre metabolized form but is even more effective once it is metabolized by the liver. Unlike other opioids, it also inhibits the reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine (weakly) so it acts like prozac or venlaxafine as a mood elevator. That is why you had the response you did. It is perfectly usual and is one of the reasons this drug is so efficacious, particularly with fibromyalgia and nerve/spine pain. Having said that, it works differently on different people, and there is a variance in its effect from one generic company to another.

Tramadol will not work for chronic pain.

I did start feeling my habit once I started the perk again. I'm not holding them my very supportive and sober boyfriend is. He gives me 2 a day which I hold on to till work. That isn't easy cause I feel the stomach aches all day. I want off everything but I also need my job. He won't give me anymore after tonight and I no longer have contact with anyone who has them. I just can't believe I'm on day 12 and still feel sick.

I am about to have a partial knee replacement. My doctor put me on Tramadol while I wait to see the specialist. It doesn't seem to help the pain and it make me so restless I cannot sleep. Is it uncommon for people taking this medication to be unable to sleep? Since the pain often wakes me up as well, should I request something else from my doctor?

I can't take NSAIDS due to a severe allergic reaction, so my doctor put me on Tramadol ER, 300mg and after over a year, I'm noticing nausea and a lot of bloating. CT scans of my abdomen show swollen lymph nodes, and now I'm testing as "allergic" to chicken, beef, pork, turkey, and carrots... foods I've always enjoyed. Should I stop the tramadol and see if the nausea goes away? i take it for fibromyalgia and pain in my neck and back. Cymbalta and drugs like that only seem to make me groggy and non-functional, so I'm not sure what that leaves me.

suboxone or subutex will work, it has all the opium plus a blocker so you dont get high but it satisfies the withdrawl symptoms

U are only still feeding ur habit. U may as well be starting over. The best u can do is take the 10 for 2 days and then split the other one and 5 one nite and 5 the last nite.

I followed the docs instructions. It was just to long I had to work. I have one more day of work then managed 4 more days off. 4 days and the perks withdrawals should be gone I'm hoping the suboxone will be as well by then. If I take tramadol to sleep during the rls is that bad? I can't not sleep I'll go nuts.

Mylan is the best, most potent, of all generics, if you can't afford brand name Ultram.

Ultram is going Schedule IV as a controlled drug in many states (about 10) Wiki has an accurate accounting of the states where Ultram is now controlled.

It is not FEDERALLY controlled yet, but only in certain states, but there is a fast moving wave moving among most states to move it to IV.

I wouldn't it's addictive and causes brain shocks. Look into any drug you take before you take it. A headache isn't as bad as a 10 day withdrawal. Try taking over the counter migraine med try everyone till you find one that works for you.
