I was given Tramadol HCL 50 mg for pain after sinus surgery/tonsillectomy. I did not notice that the Tramadol gave me any pain relief. I also looked online at vaughns-1-pagers.com/medicine/painkiller-comparison.htm. I don't even know why this is considered a pain killer because it is not giving me any relief. Are others getting benefit from this or is it just me?

I followed the docs instructions. It was just to long I had to work. I have one more day of work then managed 4 more days off. 4 days and the perks withdrawals should be gone I'm hoping the suboxone will be as well by then. If I take tramadol to sleep during the rls is that bad? I can't not sleep I'll go nuts.

I did start feeling my habit once I started the perk again. I'm not holding them my very supportive and sober boyfriend is. He gives me 2 a day which I hold on to till work. That isn't easy cause I feel the stomach aches all day. I want off everything but I also need my job. He won't give me anymore after tonight and I no longer have contact with anyone who has them. I just can't believe I'm on day 12 and still feel sick.

U are only still feeding ur habit. U may as well be starting over. The best u can do is take the 10 for 2 days and then split the other one and 5 one nite and 5 the last nite.

I was taking it for perc withdrawals but I was only taking 20 mg of perks a day. I think the doc was crazy to put me on subs the withdrawal from them is just as bad and last 4 times as long. I took 10 mg of perk last night and felt good for the first time in weeks. Slept 8 hrs and woke up a little worn out but still feeling better. Im going to do this for the next 3 days then nothing. Can you get addicted to 10mg of perks for 3 days? I'm going through withdrawals during the day and only using it for work.

Y were u taking suboxone? Tramadol is a opiate and so are percs.

I am going through withdrawals from 3 months of 8mg of suboxone. I weened myself off as the doctor instructed. It is now day number 10 with no relief in sight. I went to another doc and they prescribed me Tramadol. I've never taken them before and the last thing I want is to go through another set of withdrawals to get over sub withdrawals. I also have 7 mg percs those I have taken and know the withdrawal is better then subs. I have to go to work tonight there's no way I can miss anymore. I'm only going to take the minimum to get through but don't know which is worse?

I also have kidney problems and my kidney specialist gave me the tramadol 50 for the kidney pains.

I'm taking tramadol 50 mg, the question I have is that I was addicted to norco taking maybe 20 30 a day my doctor put me on Suboxon for the withdrawls but should I be taken tramadol at the same time?? Does tramadol have opiates in it like norco or is it different? johnny

I just started taking the tramadol hcl 50mg. My doctor changed my scrip from norco to this and well i woulf like to know if the Tramadol will start to work for pain soon since it has yet to work in controlling my pain or this just that im may have gotten addicted to the norco. I still have so much pain i am unsure what to do since my doctor said that he was switching my meds so that i would not become addicted to the norco but from what i have read about the Tramadol it is just as addictive is that true?

I am in situation just like you. I have taken tramadol 325 mg and my doc recently gave me tramadol hcl 50mg. the 50 mg doesnt seem to help me too much. Do you know the difference in these 2 strengths?? Thank you

I'm sorry to say- but I was on Tramadol 50 3 times per day, with an occasional extra 1 or 2 per day as needed. I felt well, not GREAT using tramadol. So after about 6 weeks of use, my script ran out. OH BOY!!!!! Was I in for the time of my life!!!! I'll never forget day 2 of withdrawal (was the day of the Japan tsunami)... AWEFUL!!!! Depression, anxiety, restlessness, body aches- you name it!! Oh my God- and the night sweats & insomnia!! I can tell you that for me there was absolutely no difference in a Tramadol withdrawal and an opiate withdrawal. Been through both and Tramadol "took the cake"!!!!

Taking tramadol 50 hcl helps you get through and barely have no side affects withdrawal.

@Johnny, I was told specifically that this was a low-level anti-depressant as well as an opiate-like pain blocker. I've just taken the first dose this hour, so the jury is still out.

If there are withdrawal symptoms from stopping this medication that are similar to that of an opiate I will be less than pleased with my doctor's decision to change my personally chosen course, particularly if this drug proves to be ineffective when my choice was working.

During the first few days of taking Tramadol I experienced drowsiness and then, strangely enough, I felt energized and a mood change for the better, happier more optimistic. Does this drug affect emotions or is it simply the lack or lessening of pain that is causing this unexpected consequence?

Your Physician needs to put u on a schedule to take your meds so the don't counter act against each other.
