I wonder if it really is the Tramadol working on your kidneys....because I have just had two antioplastys and stents in my renal arteries and am on Tramadol...the nephrologist and cardiologist both are aware that I am on Tramadol and didn't tell me to get off it. I'd check with a nephrologist (kidney specialist) if I were you!

I was on celexa for anxiety/depression and trazadone to sleep. It was a great combo, but then when my back problems started, I started taking Tramadol 50mg for pain. My pain mgt dr was concerned about the seratonin overload so I went off the trazadone. Could not sleep for a while but figured it was from not having trazadone. The tramadol didn't seem to do much for my pain, but helped with my mood and energy level I was afraid I was getting addicted to it because I would freak out if I didn't have it. I am on week 2 and have the shakes, even thought about drinking to get rid of it. I would choose the tramadol over alcohol.

When my lower back pain and/or shoulder- I have a torn rotator cuff and won't be getting a shoulder replacement! -starts bothering me if I have had my 50mg Tramadol hcl in the morning, I take another one...
I always take at least one to keep the pain down so I can sleep. Many docs prescribe Tramadol with Tylenol (aceteminophen- for inflammation - I take 2,000mg in the morning....works very well.

Had taken tramadol 50mg for better than 6 months and have now take advil and tylonol. How long does it take to get it out of blood. It works well for what it is ment to do

How long were you taking tramadol & while u were taking it....how long after did your stomache start to swell..? Any pain with the swelling? How long? The reason I ask is bcz I have been having the ssame symptoms...please respond.

I was on the extended release 300mg for over 2 years. No stomach problems for the first 1-1/2 years, then it got bad, fast. I stopped the tramadol ER 300mg with no withdrawal problems at all, and all stomach distress has stopped completely after the first 24 hours without tramadol. I'm eating chicken, beef, pork with no problems at all. Surprisingly, my pain hasn't been an issue, either. Physical therapy has taught me postural restoration techniques that resolve 90% of my pain, and acupuncture is taking care of the rest. I take an occasional over the counter tylenol, and that's it.

Texas belle- I've taken this med for 2 1/2 years as well. Tram er 100mg once in the morning. Did you have a pregnant looking belly? Also curious if you felt like your stomach was not emptying correctly..? Did you see someone about it? Were they positive it was indeed tramadol as the culprit? Would like to know...bcz my life is just gone to worse. Worried that I'm having the same problems as you are.

Hi, I'm 20yrs old & suffer chronic back pain with no known cause, was prescribed Tramadol Hcl 50mg today, I'm also taking Lyrica 300mg for pain, Nexium 40mg for a stomach ulcer problem. Wondering how long the Tramadol Hcl 50mg takes to work, does there need to be a build up in my system & is it likely for me to be relient on these medications for life?

Very, very, very addictive! Please stop taking it while u still can. Even if u don't abuse it u can still get addicted. I know this from experience. The withdrawals make u wish u were dead. Anything to keep from being that sick.

I can confirm that tramadol is excellent for opiate withdrawal. (In my case, from daily hydrocodone). Today I was feeling really awful: rebound pain, tense & achy legs, bad stomach and severe weakness like from a bad virus. I did some reading and saw a whole lot of back & forth: some people saying tramadol helps with opiate withdrawal, others saying it couldn't. I also read that tramadol can be addictive as well. Anyhow, I decided to tale 1 50 mg. tramadol (read: one pill - not a handful like some fools are doing!) to see if it could pull me out of the yecky withdrawal syndrome. Well, my god...after an hour passed suddenly I felt like a brand new, revived person! Tramadol does work for this purpose. The doubters are wrong.

Yeah keep taking that tramadol and before u know it you'll be looking for something to help with withdrawals from that too. Like I said I was only taking 4 a day NOT a handful.

Take the Tramadol. There is a lot more to this drug that the FDA is not telling us. :) Im no doctor,but i know an opiate when i take one. Believe it or not,Tramadol or Ultrum is a very strong med. If people knew what i know, they would laugh at a perk or vic. Thats a fact JACK.:) Maybe someday i will let the cat out of the bag on how to make Tramadol the strongest pain med on the market. And the safest. There is a reason why its also a anti depressant: ) ..GOOD LUCK...

Tramadol 200mg SR Also make eyes also go blurry needing glasses only when my pain requires me to take up to 2000mgSR. compared to Oxicodine around 100mg also has same effect normal codine my eyes go bad at around 300-400mg there is no relief for me unless I am being observed in hospital I know these doses are killing me organ failure stroke and many many other risks even to get my dose of codine up to say 400mg which is just enough to be mobile I get prescribed panadine forte which has 500mg of paracetamol and 30mg of codine so I am quadrupling my risk the problem is not the codine as much as the paracetamol which equals around 6000+mg which could shut down my liver at anytime been doing so for years don't ever take any of the doses I have above I am just lucky so far
