Took Doxycycline For Tick Bite

I was on a 10 day cycle of Doxycycline for a tick bite. I was outside some days and had no problem. Mowed grass on day 7. I had on sunblock also. But my hands tingled when I washed them after mowing. Now 5 weeks later I have these symptoms: Tingling hands and feet, all of my skin burns when touched, tongue and inside of mouth burns, esophagus burns, stomach burns, rash on upper chest and face, if I run my finger across my body it leaves a bright red mark for a few minutes, and if I sit for long my back burns and turns red. Dr. prescribed anti-histamines and corticosteroid cream. Neither seem to help much.

It's hard to say whether or not this has had anything to do with the Doxycycline. Its typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, usually include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

It would also be odd for them to continue more than a week or so, once you've finished your course of treatment with it.

Have you tried consulting a dermatologist? They would likely be better qualified to get to the root of the problem.
