Thyroxine Sodium 50 Mg Side Effects (Top voted first)

I am a 72 year old male from India living in Hyderabd Telangana. I am having asthma since childhood, and all my job was outdoor calling on Doctors as a medical sales representative & mostly I was riding a two wheeler in a dusty roads. Daily I take a tablet of Montelukast & Levocetrizine Dhydrocholoride once a day. Recently my blood test shows thyroid deficiency . As per my doctors prescription I am taking a tablet of Thyroxine Sodium I. P. 50 mg for the past one month, so I want to know the main side effects. Just now I am having cough in the mornings. Please tell me on side effects. I am non diabetic & no hypertension.

Hi Atmaram,

Sorry to hear about the bouts of coughing you've been experiencing in the mornings. Of the three medications you mentioned, I'm finding that "coughing" is actually listed as a general side effect of Levocetirizine. So based on that evidence this could very well be what's causing those attacks in the morning.

Precautionary measures also suggest that you contact your doctor if the coughing is severe or doesn't seem to go away on its own.

Montelukast may even be contributing to the cause as well, since it lists "hoarseness" and "swelling of the throat" as two potentially serious side effects. Is this something you've noticed as well?
