Has she consulted her doctor? How long has she been taking it?

It might be the sign of an allergic reaction and she should contact her doctor immediately.

Hi. My grandmother is 70+ and she has just recently managed to get her sodium levels under control, they were quite low. Also she is diabetic but thats under control, her BP is usually in the 140 range, cant really help that because she needs to take salt capsules to regain her sodium during summers and the monsoon season.

Now, she has been experiencing a sudden weight gain, with excessive swelling to the feet. That came down a bit with a 5 day dosage of lasix 40mg, cant continue as she may lose electrolytes again. So, the doc asked to get her TSH checked which came out to be 6.80 and then prescribed Thyrox 20 for 15 days then increasing to 50mg (15 days) and then 100mg...which he says has to be taken regularly for the next two months. I'm a little worried about this medicine, as I've read conflicting views about it. Can someone please help me here?? Also, the side effects please.
