However, it usually slows down after a few months and doesn't cause actually baldness on the head, though the loss of facial hair is frequently a full loss. Learn more Thyronorm details here. There's really nothing you can do to change it. Is there anything else I can help with?
Hi, I've taken Nitrofur-Macr 100mg and did ok with it. I recently had to start taking Levothyroxine 50mg for a thyroid condition. And now when I take Nitrofur-Macr I break out all over my neck, ears, back & arms in a horrible rash that burns almost. Is this a normal side effect? Or is it because of the combination of the two medications? I've never had a reaction like this to any medication. ## Hi, Susan! Sorry about the rash that you're getting. It sounds like you may have started experiencing an allergic reaction and, if that is the case, they tend to continue getting more severe if the medication isn't stopped. Learn more Nitrofurantoin details here. It can happen unexpectedly, even if you've been taking something for awhile and not had any prior problems. Hav...

UpdatedI just started taking both of these pills and I need to know how long to wait to take the other pill. Both pills are to be taken on an empty stomach and first thing in the morning. Plus I need to take calcium for the osteopenia. ## Hi Jolene, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Atelvia (risedronate) and Synthroid (levothyroxine sodium). So with that in mind, I don't think there would be any problems taking the two tablets at once or within the same time-frame. You are right about food though. It should be avoided at the time of your dosing, since it can supposedly diminish the absorption of each medication. I hope this info helps!
I take Levothyroxine( Thyroid) medicine and on the bottle it says not to take a antacids or calcium within 4 hours of taking . I also take Pantoprazole SOD. This I should not take for 4 hours after the Levothyroxine? ## HI, Barbara! How are you? Other than the water you take it with, nothing else should be taken with the Levothyroxine and though it works differently than an antacid, I'd suggest waiting the 4 hours for the Pantoprazole as well, just to be sure. It really helps more if it is taken before a meal, anyway. Learn more Pantoprazole details here.
My dosage of levothyroxine has been increased to 75mg 3 days ago im now very itchy but no rash just my face ears neck and chest is this the reason why? ## Hi, Lynda! It's not listed as a side effect of the medication, but it can be an issue with a thyroid disorder, in some cases. It may just be due to your body adjusting to the higher dosage, but I'd suggest having your doctor check things out, just in case. Learn more Levothyroxine details here. Has it gotten any better, or worse?
I've lost 15 pounds I. 4 weeks and i take 75m of levothyroxine for bout 5 months and my last blood test was fine. I'm worried about that weight I've lost. Should I be worried ? ## Hi, Craig! Actually, this medication usually causes the opposite problem and most people gain weight that they can't lose. Thus, it would really best if you consulted your doctor to make sure the weight loss isn't being caused by some other medical issue. Do you take any other medications, or just this one?
Hi i Have Hypo Thyroid, since from 1 year am keep on gaining my weight.. every time i consult the Dr. he increase the dosage of it from 25 mcg to 100 mcg and Sat & Sun he made 200 mcg. Some one said me if i take high dose i will reduce my weight, so am taking 200mcg everyday. I also have huge pain and swelling in my both foots. Even i take pain killer if it unbearable since frm 4 years. Kindly suggest am i doing right.. ! ## dont juz rely on medicine. tk care of ur dietary intake as well. try ti cut down intake of soy and it products, cabbage, cauliflower as these are anti thyroid stimulant. if u keep eating these products, u r nt letting ur medication to stimulate thyroid hormone. thyronorm tablet of any dosage is given to stimulate thyroid hormone for those, whose hormone becomes ...
is there a difference between levothyroxine tablets & thyroxine tablets? ## Hi Rose, From what I could gather, Levothyroxine (also known as L-thyroxine or T4), is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone "thyroxine", which is normally secreted by the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. So to answer your question, they are the same exact medication. However if they were manufactured by different companies, it's likely that each tablet contains a different set of inactive ingredients (otherwise known as binders/fillers). To my understanding, the different variations of these inactive ingredients, have a significant impact on the overall efficacy of certain medications. Do you happen to have any experience or feedback on either of these brands? You can learn more about th...
Wanting to know what a oblong white pill scored in middle with number 33 on one side is. ## Hi Lisa, The closest match I can find is Levothyroxine 50 mcg (0.05 mg). It is an oval/oblong white pill with the imprint GG 332 on the front (divided by a score) and the number 50 on the back. Maybe the other imprints got smudged off at some point? Manufacturer: Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Inc. National Drug Code (NDC): 00781-518 Levothyroxine is typically used to treat hypothyroidism. It may also be used to treat goiter via its ability to lower thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), a hormone that is considered goiter-inducing. Adverse effects: Dosing must be carefully controlled to achieve TSH levels within the normal reference range. Long-term suppression of TSH values below normal values will frequen...
I have been on 75mg of Levothyroxine for about 12 weeks now and I've started to feel really tired again is this normal? I had a blood test last week and I am hoping that the doctor will up my dosage but if they don't is this normal? ## Hi, Sophie! Sorry you aren't feeling great. Yes, many people with thyroid conditions experience tiredness and it can be caused by either the medication or fluctuations in the thyroid hormone levels, perhaps both, it's difficult to say. Make sure to inform your doctor of the problem, when you go in for your next visit to get the blood test results, so they know what's going on. Is there anything else I can help with?
i m taking thyronorm 12.5mcg and eltroxin 25mcg for past one and half year . during this my face swell in some days and looking normal in some days. why its happen ## Hi, Ammu! Sorry about the problem you're having. How are you feeling today? For best absorption, this medication should be taken on an empty stomach an hour before eating anything and it should only be taken with a small amount of water. As to the facial puffiness, it may be due to your thyroid levels and the medication may need to be adjusted. When was the last time they were checked by your doctor?
Is it Levothyroxine 50 mcg tablet an oblong white pill with a 50 on one side and a GG 332 on the other side? Thanks a lot for your time... ## Hi, CN! Yes, you have received the correct medication. It may be different from the tablet you previously received from your pharmacy due to the fact that there is currently a shortage of this medication. The reasons haven't been given, but the complete supply from one manufacturer isn't currently available. Several people have asked very similar questions. Some pharmacies have been unable to get in any generic supply, at all and have had to provide the name brand. Are there any other questions or concerns?
it was supposed to be a white pill, levothyroxine 50 mcg. however I received green oblong pill with 9 and 3 on one side and 7 3 6 5 onb the other side. the size is also bigger than the white pill I took for years ## Wow! It's a very good thing that you noticed. A green, oblong tablet with 93 on one side and 7365 on the other is a 50mg Losartan tablet. This is an ARB that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Learn more Losartan details here. I double checked to be sure, but there aren't any green, oblong Levothyroxine tablets with the 93 imprint on them. I believe your pharmacy made an error. Have you contacted them?
Can you take Kavinace and Levothyroxine without side affects ## HI, Marie! Kavinace is just a nutritional supplement that's claimed to help with sleep issues and anxiety by supporting GABA, it contains vitamin B6 and a proprietary blend of Taurine. I didn't find any problems listed between the medication and this supplement, but I was unable to run a full check due to the listing of the proprietary blend, thus the best suggestion I can make is to check with your doctor or pharmacist, before taking it. Are there any other questions or concerns?
Hello All, I have been on levothyroxine 125 for about two weeks and I hav e swollen ankles and feet on a daily basis. After contacting my dr, she said I should take two water pills and a linsopril twice a day even though I have weak bladder from Multiple Sclerosis. If I take a iopdine supplement will this up my levels? advice plz!!! ## I am not sure if the iodine would work to help enable your levels to change and for you to lower the dosage. But the severe swelling can be dangerous, which is why your doctor wants you to take the diuretics. If it remains untreated, there is a chance that it could cause severely elevated blood pressure and/or congestive heart failure. Has anything else changed in your lifestyle recently that may have caused the swelling/fluid retention? Are you eating di...
Is it ok to take l- theanine with levothyroxine and amlodipine besylate ? ## L-Theanine is a natural supplement and therefore could not be checked for interactions in the drug databases. However, since it is an amino acid, in my opinion it would be fine. If you're really still concerned I would suggest visiting a Naturopath regarding this supplement. Interestingly enough, there are interactions found between Levothyroxine and food; same goes for Amlodipine. "Consumption of certain foods as well as the timing of meals relative to dosing may affect the absorption of T4 thyroid hormone (Levothyroxine)." "The consumption of grapefruit juice may slightly increase plasma concentrations of Amlodipine." I hope this information helps! ## Can I take amplodipine and levothyroxi...
