These Are The Medications I Take Daily.

Lisinopril 20mg; Chlorthalidone 25mg; Amlodipine Besylate 10; Diltiazem Er (cd) 180mg; Fluoxetine 20mg; Cardizem Cd 180mg; Hydrochlorot 25mg Tab

Are some of these drugs really duplicates of others? I had been checked by a heart doctor and he says my heart is good, but because I have HBP my doctor has given me all these to take.

That is a lot of medications to take, but if your blood pressure was dangerously high, they all might be necessary for awhile. Doses can always be lowered later, once it's under control, or medications stopped as they become unnecessary.

I was taking a lot, too, at one point in time, and slowly as my blood pressure was gotten under control, I was able to eliminate most of them, so I am now only taking 2 regular daily medications, with a backup prescription for another one that I only take as needed.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, hypotension, and dehydration.

How high was your blood pressure?

They aren't duplicates, so to speak, but many of them do very similar things in the body to help lower your blood pressure.

Except the Fluoxetine, that is an SSRI antidepressant that is used to depression and anxiety.
