Teva Lorazepam Reviews (Page 33)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I'm seeking insights and reviews on Teva Lorazepam and its comparison with Leading Pharma's version. There's a notable divide in user experiences. Some report Leading Pharma Lorazepam as being less effective or having no effect, possibly due to variations in the active ingredient, leading to side effects or adverse reactions in certain cases.

While there are those who recommend Teva Lorazepam for its efficacy, others find Leading Pharma's version more suitable. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to try Teva Lorazepam since it's not available in my area – no local pharmacies dispense it.

My experience with other brands, post the discontinuation of Qualitest, hasn't been successful in finding a comparable alternative. I'm particularly interested in understanding how Teva Lorazepam and Leading Pharma's lorazepam differ in terms of effectiveness and user satisfaction.

If you've had experiences with either or both of these medications, your reviews would be incredibly valuable. Any insights into their efficacy, side effects, or overall satisfaction would greatly help me and others in our decisions.

Re: Gin (# 46) Expand Referenced Message

HI Gin, I have insurance, but.....it was still going to cost almost $300 per month (30 pills) and CVS said they don't even carry it and would have to order it. Yeesh...I didn't get it...they gave me Mylan in a large dose to cut in half since they ONLY had Leading brand in the .05 mg. The Mylan at least had a sedative effect however, I still reacted to the adjuvants. Then I tried benzodiazepam and that did nothing at 2 mg. Me thinks all the recipes (for lack of better term) have changed and are not what they used to be OR I am changing!

Not only the Leading but the ‘new’ whiter Watson/Actavis, old looking Watson and even brand name Ativan....I find them all equal in effectiveness.....maybe i’m Just one of the lucky ones or it’s just the unlucky ones who understandably write their complaints here....i prefer the Watson if only because they are thinner.....easier to swallow without water.....I think a good deal has to do with um.....awareness...watching to see if we feel something different. I know with me....any given week SOMETHING comes up that is diffferent with me (if my wife were reading over my shoulder she’d be nodding in agreement)......a new ache, pain, rise in anxiety...I would naturally blame it on a new med manufacturer.....I think it’s natural that we first blame something new in our lives as the cause....at least I would.....rather than accept that any new daily/weekly/monthly aches, pains, depression, twitches, etc. is all part of the anxiety/panic disorder. Meditation..(and/or Progressive Relaxation) .if done seriously and with dedication I have only recently started after 50 years of talking about it ..found it is extremely effective.

Re: Dar (# 41) Expand Referenced Message

I have to always keep in mind WHY I’m taking lorazepam even after 50+ years of benzos......a good many if not all of us have health anxiety to some degree...mix that with anxiety popping up in new/old symptoms every so often and Pharmaceuticals messing with our prescription - you have to try to determine which new ‘thing’ is from anxiety, meds, or our rather creative (yet serious) imaginations......over the years I never would have believed a body was able to have pain/welts/hives/etc...from thought but it does.....bp through the roof because I thought I forgot to take Ativan (name brand)..as soon as I remembered my bp went down as did my heart rate.....yeah-lorazepam is bad for the memory.....they say it can bring on early Alzheimers too but.....’they’ also say you have to keep upping your dose......I’ve been on the same dose I started on 35 years ago...so ‘they’ don’t know everything...

Re: Big Joe (# 39) Expand Referenced Message

For everyone here...I started taking Dr. Carolyn Dean's magnesium (liquid) and it has quelled my anxiety big time. Many of us are magnesium deficient which is why we have anxiety in the first place. My mag levels are good it is just sleeping all night now that is my problem. If anyone is interested you can look up Dr. Carolyn Dean on the internet. She has a blog and sells her own stuff because she couldn't find anyone to make magnesium to help with her heart issues. Her stuff has changed many people's lives. Blessings.

Re: Deedee (# 38) Expand Referenced Message

Hi, I had to stop taking not only Leading Lorazepam but also the one from Mylan. The side effects were unbearable and all I can ask is "What is in this stuff, anyway?". To the point where I react to everything.

Re: Big Joe (# 39) Expand Referenced Message

Good luck persuing this Big Joe! Please keep all of us informed...I’m taking Leading now and have been for over a month after 6 years on Watson and 30 years on the name brand before that......2 mg 3 x day so it’s not a minor/sometimes thing. Not sure WHY Leading is working for me (and a few others here) but obviously not so for everyone......my latest prescription was filled with a ‘whiter’ Watson distributed by Actavis....I took a few..seemed okay but I haven’t been sufficiently convinced as yet.....hopefully it will be okay......I just wish companies would stop screwing around with generics as out lives (not $) depend on it.

I'm an attempt to answer some of your questions posed to me I will do my best. Actavis absolutely does now and for the foreseeable future will continue to do so. And they seem to be the most consistent. I won't go into a lot of specifics but I had an independent lab as well as sending one back to them for testing. Still waiting on the results from Leading, my lab concluded "Leading Farma Brand 2mg Ativan were subpar, and it's significant enough that I have now aquired legal counsel as some of these medical terms are a little over my head. Sorry if I didn't answer your question directly, as I wasn't ignoring you, I am just staying within the guidelines my attorney has set forth. But as sure as the sun rises every morning, I am not just gonna let this go. I refuse. This is my Mother's healthcare at stake. And you don't mess with a Marines Mother. I'll update as I progress thru this process which I do fear may be lengthy. Regardless, I will NEVER accept Leading Pharma anything, that's a promise. Screw them, the F D A for letting them put this garbage on the market in the U.S. It sickens me that this could even happen. I'll check in when I can with results if anything actually changes. God Bless, hope some of you folks have resolved your issues.

Re: Dar (# 36) Expand Referenced Message

The companies out of the country especially are allowed to cut the main ingredient by up to 20% and that is quite a big dose!! Rugby Labs/Major Pharmaceuticals are the companies distributing for Leading. I was told we need to forward all complaints to their websites!!

Re: Dar (# 36) Expand Referenced Message

I’m sorry Leading is not working for you...I was discussing this product with my psychopharmacologist who said that is the main problem with generics....for some a certain manufacturer may work great...but for others....not much at all......he’s says if you find one stick with it (yeah-no s***).......I doubt Leading is sugar plus additives, lol but for some it may work (or not work) like it does......I’m really sensitive to lorazepam (or no lorazepam) over the decades and I assure you I would know if there was no active ingredient...as I’ve stated before...a few hours past dosage and I end up in the ER......surely if it was just sugar I couldn’t take it for even a day......it DOES taste sweet though if I let it melt in my mouth.

Re: BigJoe (# 25) Expand Referenced Message

thanks for sharing all of this. I thought I was getting sick with something terrible in the last 5 days I took this pill. My husband was getting concerned. It is nothing but sugar and additives. I doubt there is any active ingredient in this pill. I took 2 together and it made no difference. Maybe this company is figuring that the placebo effect will be in place...or something crazy like that.

Re: Richard (# 33) Expand Referenced Message

thank you. I take it for sleep only so just take at night. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't working then I remembered this article. When I originally read it I was not taking Leading. I used to get Ativan for many years. The Brand name is very cost prohibitive. I am taking L-Tryptophan from Bulk supplements and it is really working. Hoping that in time I won't need the Lorezepam.

Re: Deedee (# 32) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you. I started reading after I posted. I called my pharmacist and he said I could get the Mylan if my Dr. ordered 1mg instead of .5 and I could cut in half. After reading some of this stuff I am realizing that how awful I have felt in the last week (headaches, memory worse, cognitive) is probably from this bad medicine. Except for this pill I am finally on NO maintenance meds. Can't wait to be off this too. God knows I am trying.

Re: Dar (# 31) Expand Referenced Message

Give it a try without preconceptions nor anything you’ve read here.....keep in mind...those who find it works for them don’t write about how it doesn’t work nor do they necessarily even google it....I’ve been on lorazepam (Ativan or generic) since 1982.. 2mg 3x day...... upon retiring (sort of) 6 years ago I started generic (Watson)...three months ago I got Leading brand because the pharmacy said they couldn’t get Watson (they can now i’ve been told).....so I stupidly Googled it.....nevertheless I read posts here and thought ‘oh s***’....well...I took it anyway-mixing it with the few Watson’s I had left......now 4 weeks on 100% Leading.....keeping in mind no lorazepam..not even brand name EVER quelled my anxiety 100%.....and a few times during the months I was mixing them I felt anxious and thought “aha! see- the Leading isn’t as good”...turns out I had taken all Watson that day, lol....with Leading..I do find sometimes I wash out sooner...other times I actually go past my usual dosage time (with lorazepam....at my dosage ...you KNOW...when it is washing out....)....with no issues....and I’m sleeping better. I just got a new prescription..and frankly i’m in a quandary about whether I should go for Leading or Watson......(yes..Watson DISTRIBUTED by Actavis......Actavis does not manufacture lorazepam...it distributes it).

Re: Dar (# 31) Expand Referenced Message

You must not have been reading this thread for the last few months almost on a daily basis.. this group of people whom I’ve gotten to know pretty well and am sure are all over the country, have been in this situation forever it seems!! Mylan stopped making this months ago and the few pharmacies that still had it were just using up what they had. Leading has taken over and it’s garbage. A few weeks ago I posted who and where people could voice their complaints to and it’s the only way we will be heard. Look back through here and make sure you have your settings to post the newest first or you’ll be reading posts from years ago.

My cvs just changed from Mylan to Leading for Lorezapam. It is nothing more than a sugar pill. I don't know what to do about it.

Re: winjy (# 29) Expand Referenced Message

Boy...talk about monopolies forming......so who will be making it besides Leading? My pharmacist says he’s ordered Watson ‘made by Watson’ according to him....not Actavis as Actavis doesn’t manufacture..it distributes according to 2 pharmacists....only relating what they said..not my specialty....it will be in just about now....new prescription is obtained next week......I think I prefer the Watson (been taking it since around the time it was absorbed/merged by Teva)...it’s worked for me but then Leading hasn’t been too bad for me...4th week now of 100% Leading... Maybe I’m one of the lucky ones.......a couple others in an anxiety group I belong to take it too...no issues......and i’m sure they would have said something as this group b****es about everything, lol......I had not noticed the sweetness until I read it here so I let one dissolve in my mouth....yup....sure tastes like sugar .....funny....sometimes it feels like it’s not quite as strong as the Watson...other times definitely stronger - longer lasting- not stronger sedatively speaking....and for some weird reason I’m sleeping longer and deeper since taking it.....I thought I’d be more sensitive to any change because i’ve been on 6mg a day for 35 years+. I hope everyone can get their issues resolved...anxiety/panic is bad enough without having meds screwing with us too......btw...my wife was on valsartan.....(sigh)
