My Dr. doesn't want to write this as a sleep aid. How can I get this medication prescribed!? Please help. I have bad insomnia! Is anyone else taking this for sleep problems? Thr VA gave them to me and its like drinking coffee befoe going to bed ## Having abstained from coffee for several hours, and feeling a little tired, I took my first 20mg of temazepam and settled down with a book before attempting to doze off. I am WIDE awake. I found myself tossing and turning, stretching myself, humming various tunes, rolling on the bedroom floor. Please help; doctor doesn't want me as a patient anymore, reasons are ridiculous and too long to get into, but now she has put me in a jam. I was taking Clonazepam 2mg. 2 tablets 2x per week(for anxiety & sleep), & Temazepam 30mg. 2 tablets 2x per week(for sleep). Have taken 10-20mg of temazepam for last 8-10 weeks about 5 days a week with a couple of week periods without any. Started noticing strong focus issues and grogginess throughout the day; have stopped cold turkey for 5 days now and am suffering from: anxiety, slight neck soreness, poor concentration, strange stomach sensations and hot flashes. Symptoms seem to have decreased a bit each day since cessation. Should my withdrawal symptoms clear up any time soon? ## I think you are coming off these meds far too quickly. Take at least a week taking them at a little lesser dosage, then two weeks at the next lowered dosage and so on. Three weeks on next and so on. Dont rush it. I was prescribed 15mg temazepam capsules in August 2008 to help me sleep. I still have some from 2008; it is now the year 2016. My psych prescribed me Temazepam 15 mg. He also has me on Lexapro 20 mg & Zanax up to 4mg per day. My fiance went to pick up the rx for me and the pharmacist gave a huge lecture on how I should not be taking Temazepam and Xanax. I initially dismissed that info, feeling that my dr would not have prescribed if there was a concern. However, I read all the blah blah on it causing "sleep driving" and all that stuff, which freaks me out so I didn't take the medication. Does anyone know how common those side effects are? I have been diagnosed with DSPS. Not sure if that is the correct diagnosis; Basically I can fall asleep just fine, at any hour. I can adjust my sleep schedule as needed, BUT when I did a sleep study the specialist noticed that my brain waves were significantly more active than they should have been in deep REM sleep. IE: The doctor told me "my brain was waking up" 5-6 times an hour, despite the fact that I was sleeping through the night and getting into deep REM. Can I still take Temazepam that expired 9 years ago? ## It doesn't become dangerous, once expired, but it will most likely have lost some of its efficacy. Even when a medication is stored in the original, factory sealed packaging, it still expires in 4 to 5 years, and if it has been opened, and placed in a prescription bottle dispensed by your pharmacy, then its expiration date is a year from when it was dispensed. Harvard Health has some great information available on expiration dates. The way the medication has been stored in the intervening years can also play a role, exposure to heat, light, air, and moisture all aid in degradation. I have received some liquid filled capsules that look fluorescent yellow or very light green. I am promised they are temazepam by Pfizer but I've never ever seen see through capsules. I have a rule where I will not take anything I am not 100% certain of. Can anyone please tell me if there is a see through temazepam gel cap that fits this description ? I've trawled the internet images but the one I find are not see through. I don't want to throw away good stuff but rather that than be a possible fatality. My latest refill has tem-20 temazepam tablets. I've read they stopped making 20 mgs but I have taken my dose and they are working. Is "tem-20" the correct marking for temazepam? Can anyone (in the UK or other country) recognize the stamp as valid?

There are 15mg Temazepam products manufactured by both companies and it is very common for a pharmacy to switch, depending on who was offering the cheapest price, at the time they had to restock their supply. In what country is Temazepam by Mylan (Mylan 4010) made? I do not like to take anything made in China, because they put poisonous substances in products, or from the Phillipines, because they do not put a full dose in each pill or capsule. Has Mylan stopped making Temazepam 30mg? I have been on that brand /mfg for long time. Suddenly in NC no pharmacy can find any Mylan brand. All the other brands of Temazapam does not work like Mylan always has. Drug shortage list keeps stating no release date. Ok, this is messed up. I take 30mg of Temazepam at night. I live in Mississippi, but when I had the prescription filled I was in Tennessee. Therefore, my 5 refills are in Tennessee, and the pharmacist down here in Mississippi said they can't transfer controlled substances. They can transfer the Prozac, but not the Temazepam. I have one prescription of 15mg Temazepam here in Mississippi from months ago because my dosage was increased. If I get that filled and a few days or a week later, go back to Tennessee and get my other prescription for the 30mg Temazepams will I get in trouble? I've been taking 60 mg temazapam for years for sleep. Ran out 4 days ago and refill in 4 days. Am I in any danger? I recently changed pharmacy's. I usually take the yellow Mylan 30mg Temazepam dose which works fine. The new pharmacy's generic is from Activas. A white capsule with a logo (R with a line through it) and 077 imprinted on it. I do not get the same effect of what I am used to vs the yellow 30mg capsules. has anyone had the same issue? I also seem to have a slight withdrawal during the next day. Which manufacturers (found on your bottle) of Temazepam do you find effective and not effective? Some people will share the color of their pills, but when I call the pharmacies, I ask what manufacturer they are using. Have a script for 22.5, but can have it changed to 15 or 30. Please help.
