Telma Am Side Effects (Top voted first)
UpdatedMy father (post CABG, 65 yrs) has been taking Telma AMH 40 instead of Telma AM 40 (which he took for a year or so post CABG) since last 3 months. Recently he was diagnosed with unexplained loss of electrolytes (hyponatremia, Na was 104 when detected, and corrected till 122). Can this loss be due to the usage of Telma AM or AMH? Rest of his reports are coming normal, so we are not able to diagnose the causative factor.

I am 34 yrs old , I have been taking telma AM H 40 mg for the past two years , my BP is keeping normal 130/85 , however I am facing
Two major problems very frequently, first muscle cramps and second severe pain of nerves originating from spinal cord consecutively muscle pain of neck and back region. Also I get a fèling of pounding heart frequently.
Can this be because of telma AM H 40 please guide.
Yes, it might be caused by the Telma AMH, which contains the active ingredients Telmisartan, Amlodipine and Hydrocholorothiazide.
The Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that's used to help remove excess fluid from the body, but when taking it, someone has to be careful that they take in enough fluid to balance out the loss, or dehydration and such loss of the electrolytes can occur.
You can learn more about it here:

In most cases, anyone taking such a diuretic has to make sure that they take in, at least, 64ounces of water/fluid daily, in order to prevent dehydration.
Are there any other questions or comments?
Thanks! The cardiologist asked to increase the sodium intake in day-to-day food, and has started him on Remipril 10 mg (post lunch). Serum and urine osmolarity are lower than normal range; we are trying to restrict his free water intake to 1L/day. Is there anything else that can be done? Also, his BP readings are not normal (150-160/80) after starting Remipril 10 mg. Another MD we went to suggested taking Amlodipine (5 mg) post dinner.Telma AM 40 mg did keep his BP levels under control though.
Why the restricting of his water to 1 liter a day? That is normally less than what the human body puts out in a day and it could cause further problems with his sodium and other electrolytes being low, as that will keep him dehydrated.

I am 52 and have been taking TELMA AM for about 4 years now. However my BP is always high 160 to 180 and I feel very thirsty. Also I need to urinate quite frequently at least 2 times through the night. I want to know if the medication is ok and whether I should continue taking it specially taking into consideration that i have been taking it for that long. Also how do I reduce my BP apart from taking care of eating the right foods.
