UpdatedMy mixed breed pomerian 10 kg dog has been prescribed Taxim 250mg IM daily. Is this drug safe for veterinary use?

I will be honest and tell you that I am not familiar with the use of medications in animals. I am not even sure if the canine medication is the same as that used in humans.
The human medication Taxim contains the active ingredient Cefotaxime and is an antibiotic used to treat infections.
The regular side effects can include: irritation at the injection site, nausea and diarrhea, though I am not sure how it will affect a dog.
Have you tried asking your veterinarian for more information?
