Tapering Suboxone Films
(Newest replies first)

I was in one of the other forums and saw someone post about an Rx film cutting guide? I guess it's suppose to help you cut your Suboxone films into to small doses for tapering. Well its $5 to download and I wanted to get some feedback before I decided if I wanted to download it. Has anyone used this before and if so, how did it work?

I purchased the taper chart and it is well worth the small price. I have gone from a strip (8) and a half a day to 3/8 of a strip. Which if u cut the strip into 8 pieces, I take 3 pieces, for those who are mathematically challenged like me..I am doing a very slow taper..I cut down 1/16 every two weeks...which is one of the pieces cut in half. I wouldn't be able to do it so accurately without the chart..I use a razor blade to cut, and tweezers to hold it in place on the chart.
Thanks David. I'll get it because I'll be doing a long slow taper. The instructions seem simple and can use all the help I can get to do it right. I only want to do this once!
Thanks for your response.
I don't have any personal experience with this, but I do know tapering is the way to go if you want to avoid most withdrawal symptoms. Out of curiosity I went ahead and ran a google search on "Rx film cutting guide" and came across the one you mentioned for Suboxone. The instructions make it seem like a simple process, so I have no doubt it's worth the 5 bucks if it saves you time and energy from withdrawal symptoms.
Everyone is different though, so ultimately it's up to you and your doctor to plan your taper accordingly. But this is definitely a valuable tool for those who would like the extra sense of security.
