Tapering Off Suboxone
UpdatedI have been taking Suboxones for the past 2 years because I am a recovering drug addict. If you don't know Suboxone, it is to take away the withdrawals of the pain pills and it is supposed to take your cravings away. It does not come up in a drug test because it is a very low dose of pain killer in it. You can not just stop taking it, you must wean yourself off it. If not you will still have really bad withdrawals.

you will have wd regardless. They will be severe the first week and then persistent for the next several MONTHs.... sorry to say. Ween to .25 mg's.
asap-- 2 years is about a year and 11 months too long to be on a hairy long acting opiate .. which you are addicted to now.
Suboxone contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, it will show up in drug tests as an opiate, because that is what it is. It is used to treat drug addiction and severe chronic pain.
With a slow taper, however, under the guidance of a trained physician, it has been proven to help many people beat their drug addiction and by doing a slow taper, it lessens the withdrawals, so most people end up completely drug free.

Did you have any questions?
suboxone does not show up in a regular drug test they have to specifically test you for it i been on em lon enough to know that, thats for sure, the only reason why theyconsider it an opiate is b/c they needed something t put it under but it actually is not an opiate if that maks any sense but im telling you it does not show up in a regular drug test they have certain tests for suboxone
i am telling you it does not show up in a test i been on it for 4 years ,yes buprenorphine is in it but that dont show up they have a specific test that test for suboxone if you look up on the average test that test for cocaine opoates etc that thats not on there when u go to ur suboxone dr they have a special test that tests for suboxone my current job gave me a drug test an it certaintly did not show up your dr can explain it to you better
Maybe this is why so many ppl are seeking out suboxone, it to get high in a form that will not show up in a drug test. I know ppl who say that the high from suboxone is better then the high on opiates....
In my opinion you are giving up one addiction to have another to have to deal with.... S**t just go cold turkey and deal with the withdrawls and be done once and for all.....
I also am on suboxone and I am finally starting to enjoy life again. I am no longer on seek and destroy missions to get high, I take one sub a day and do just fine. This was the best thing I could have ever done. The people that dis on suboxone are not truely wanting to get clean because it will change your life completely. I am forever grateful to have a normal life with my family.
