Taking Subutex And Percocet Together (Page 5) (Top voted first)

My doctor just put me on subutex along with percocet. I've been on percocet for yrs for severe and chronic migraines. He told me to take the subutex and if it doesn't work to take a percocet. I usually take 15 mg percocet at a time. I've read some stuff online that worries me. Some people say if you take percs with subutex you'll go into withdrawals. I went through severe withdrawals with fioricet months ago and I don't want to go through that hell again. I took my first subutex about an hour ago and I still have a migraine so I want to take a perc now. Can I do that or will I get sick?

Plz, I was pregnant and was on subutex and weaned off a month before I had him, a perfectly healthy boy, no withdrawal for the baby. So before u start judging ppl u need to understand what happens. I doubt u have kids or are an addict cuz u would already know what they tell u.

Hi, I have a son that's an addict and we talk about it all the time. He's finally crossed over and went to the subs and I'm so proud of him. And he's doing it the right way because he lives here with me. I don't judge anyone in life because I walked my own path and it haven't been Pleasant at times. But I talk to my kids a lot. also i had good results with tramadol + subutex it didnt seem to block the tramadol at all.. i forget which receptor sub attachs to the weakest but tram takes that one over ibeleive and many other herbal still legal blends that start with a Ka

Bupenephorine - the drug in Subutex has a higher affinity for your receptors than Naloxone/Narcan- the substance added to Suboxone to make it 'abuse proof' does. The Narcan is a marketing ploy. The Bup blocks other opiates all by itself. It binds itself so lovingly to your mind.

There is a lot of misinformation about suboxone and subutex out there, and the main one is "Suboxone has narcan in it, so you can't get high!" - the Narcan is completely pointless in there. Just there so that they can make money because it sounds good.

Just stick with your subutex or suboxone. Unless you're IVing and need the rush, its better than swallowing or snorting your little weak short-acting opiate pills.

Ok...i have been reading all of this stuff and am very confused. I have been taking percs 10mg for three months. Four a day for acute osteoarthritis. My dr just prescribed buprenorphine patches. I was also prescribed the percs and muscle relaxers. Should i put on the patch? She said i could still take the percs if i need them. Sounds scary! Please help!

That's only because u wernt on the percs very long. When I first switched from methadone to subutex, I was very sick for days.

You won't get sick if you take any painkiller with subutex. It had no opiate blocker in it. It's is often times given to addicts during detox, so that it will not induce the patients full withdrawal symptoms. This is the opposite as far as suboxone is concerned.

I only waited 10 hours after taking 80 mgs of percocet to take a 8 mg subutex. I didn't go into withdrawals. Good luck to you. I feel great, by the way.

You will not go into withdrawal by taking perc 16 hours after sub. It's actually the other way around. U can possible go into withdrawal if u take sub to soon after other opiates. But since u were taking sub for 5-6 days already and your only taking a couple of perc. Prolly nothing at all will happen. U will prolly not feel much from the perc anyway, and when u get back on sub, u will not go into withdrawal from only one day of using 2 percs. Your really just wasting your percs. Wait another day or so , so u can actually feel something .

OK I just got the 54 411 subutex...my.last dose was about 9am this morning which was3 perc 30s....i just took a qtr of the subutex about an hour ago.
..no signs of withdrawal or pre/wd....also in my own personal experience I have taken subutex 8 hours after my last dose and never got pre/wd so I think it's safe to say the 54 411 subutex don't put you into pre wd if you take with opiates I just wouldn't take them so.close together...hope this little bit of info will.help someone out there

Not a reply but been on 100mg dia morphine fr 8 yrs..its not touching my pain anymore..will subetex or methadone help me
Or should I just chuck it in..n give up the ghost. .

I been on subutex for 5 days and I was taking vicodone as well for breakthrough pain but I don't think they were helping, so I jus taken the prescribed 2 a day subutex and it works well I just hope this isn't another ride I wanna get clean. I accept that I can't have 0 pain and that I am an addict time to get my life back..

Yes. As long as its subutex and not suboxone. Subutex doesn't have naloxone in it, which is what makes suboxone unsafe to take shortly after an opiate.

yes it worked an hour after I had taken a little bit of morphine I took the subutex and was fine. just be sure it is the subutex and not suboxone.
