No, breaking or cutting one could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once, which might result in overdose. The XR designates them as being time released.
The FDA lists this medication as being a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.
