Taking Xanax To Offset The Side Effects Of Buspar (Top voted first)

Can I take Xanax to offset the side effects of Buspar? I only took 2.5 mg (yes, that's 2.5, not 25)twice a day for one day and had a number of bad side effects. That was Tuesday, today is Sunday and I still cannot sleep, am shaky, nervous and have a pressure headache.

Verwon, yes this was the first time I've taken Buspar. I took .25 mg of Xanax Sunday morning and the nervousness subsided enough for me to finally get some sleep Sunday night. Thank you!

I have been on cipralex 10mg,buspar 10 mg and xanax .5 mg per day,but after adding busper few days ago the side effects started but hopefully they will subside in two week otherwise I will change busper.You know these medicines takes time.cipralex took 6 months to me for adjustment in my system and side effects still controlled by the use of xanax .5 mg.Just stick to doctor advice and don't worry if side effects are mild and if not bearable then see doctor for another prescription. Patience is what we lack and it raise anxiety and depression, just keep going and try living with some discomfort at times,that's what I learned in past year or so that I have to face it.you guys should not worry as there are people in this world who are in much more discomfort than us.
