Taking Suboxone For 7 Months & Winning, But.......

My choice. My money. Time to straighten up and fly right! It's been 7 months now on Suboxone. Going great with lots of support, until today...
At my appointment, I was told that I was positive for Hydrocodene and Oxycotin!!! I was told it showed that it had been going on for weeks. When I said that I had not taken anything, I was told I was lying & to continue treatment, it would be done weekly with weekly urinalysis?!? I am a grown man but sorry to say, I've cried most of the day. NO-ONE believes an addict!
I'm doing everything right! I quit social drinking, all the opiates, I don't even take aspirin!!!
HOW/WHY IS THIS HAPPENING??? If they didn't screw it up, why is it showing this??? My wife said it could be food or shots(steroid type) for Flu sickness last month. What do I do now?

I have also been on suboxone and one time my drug test came up positive for methadone and muscle relaxers and i wasn't taking either one. But like you said no one believes an addict. So i went along with everything he said until he put me back to once a month. I know it sucks and i have no clue how these mistakes get made. My advice would be to do the weeklys if thats what he wants and eventually he will (or at least should) move you back monthy. Good luck and don't feel bad about crying cause at some point drugs will always find a way leaving you on your knees crying hoping for things to get better and not keep getting messed up. Sorry for rambling it's just i know exactly how you feel.

Since Suboxone contains the opiate Buprenorphine, there is a chance that it caused the false positives, because they are well known to do so, if an office uses the less expensive, non-certified tests.

Did you ask them for more information on the type of test they use?

i to had a similar problem- i was prescribed narcotics and wen it came to take a pee test it came back positive for methadone and no narcotics and i never had methadone so my dr cut me off and sent me on my way i got my results from the lab myself and found out there was no mention of methadone my dr lied to me dr is no longer there so please do checking yourself

How exactly did you get the lab to give you the results? I went today for my Subutex, I am 4 months pregnant. My Dr refused to give me a refill because my test came back positive for amphetamines! I've never taken an amphetamine. My drug of choice was perc 30. I am currently on wellbutrin and vicks nasal spray. Have read both can cause false positives. I am terrified to withdrawal because of the pregnancy. The Dr says he will let me know what the amphetamine was. But he didn't believe me either when I said it was ridiculous. What can I do!
