Taking Hydrocodone For Depression (Page 24) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI am wondering if anybody else out there has taken Hydrocodone and noticed that symptoms of depression are alleviated? I find that many of today's anti-anxiety and antidepressant drugs come with unpleasant side effects, whereas while taking Hydrocodone they aren't there. The caveat to all of this is that yes, I know that Hydrocodone and opiates in general can be addictive. So long term use would result in withdrawal symptoms. I'm just wondering who else might agree with me on this?
Good option ISE!!
Nonpsychoactive Cannabidiol (CBD) is an amazing antidote for anxiety. In fact, CBD may be even better at controlling anxiety than psychoactive THC. While THC can make anxiety worse in some cases, CBD feels like being enveloped by a warm, calming blanket. The best part? There is no known way to overdose on CBD and it does not impair cognitive function.
The point I was trying to make was simply that Bupronorphine is not an opioid analgesic, it has been proven in many trials to lower depression significantly at the dose of 2mg sublingual per day. It does not make you feel high and there is zero risk for overdose. Would you rather suggest benzos where a mix of alcohol can kill?
Have not heard anyone speak about Tramadol use for depression. It has serotonin in its pharmacologic make up and has been a tremendous relief for depression suffers. The problem is that most doctors won't prescribe for depression since it is considered a synthetic opiate in many states and is not prescribed by physch. doctors as an anti-depressant therapy. You have to find a doctor that is willing to think out side the box and understand that there are a lot of patients in pain out there suffering with drug resistant major depressive disorders. You can read depression blogs were many many people are finding depression relief and life changing results from taking Tramadol (Ultram). Many suffers found out the benefits when prescribed Tramadol for other pain related issues. I am a major depressive, drug resistant person and have been using Tramadol for a year with good results. I am also blessed to have a doctor that thinks out of the box and is overly caring and listens to his patients issues with great care and stays on the cutting edge of medications and the careful use of same. But like ALL pain meds you can have withdrawal problems, but I have had horrible withdrawal problems with "anti-depressants" and other commonly prescribed meds for various problems. As with all these meds, you have to have common sense and intellectual honesty with why we are taking what we take.
Specialists should figure that our pain causes high blood pressure. And losing one's ability to move around causes atrophy / depression. It's a goverment purge killing anyone that needs long term care.
I found some alleged lorazepam and they are a teeny round pills that are scored on one side. They are white and come in packs of 10. The pack says (LOZEP-2). Do you know if they are real?
I tried Saphris years ago, got samples from my psych. doc, I took one pill and within half an hour, ended up paralyzed on the entire left side of my body! I was so scared that I had a friend stay with me for an evening because I was afraid the "side effect" of the paralysis, (listed as rare in the warnings), woulf not subside. Told my friend to call 911 if I lost consciousness. That stuff is bad, I reported to FDA, I have never had serious side effects to any antidepressants, so that one scared the hell out of me.
My husband has tried everything possible for depression for 45 years including transcraniel magnetic stimulation. NOTHING works except pain killers!!! But they are impossible to get. So he suffers!! It is not right!! How do you get them?
Yes mine too. I suffer from chronic pain and ppd etc I think all of these pills can be eliminated if I can just bare with pain meds.
I'm a fitness coach and have found that, even with severe fibromyalgia and auto immune diseases, there is physical therapy that can help you. Are you trying those methods as well? On all those meds it seems it would be difficult to have a good quality of life. I hope things get better for you.

They are phasing opioids out for pain, they most certainly will not look into prescribing them for depression....sorry.
I found out too that from my torn rotator cuff I was getting depressed from the chronic pain. Low dose Hydrocodone helped a lot, BUT the doctor cut me off. I need to find another doctor who understands, or an alternative way to obtain. I welcome any advise.
Re: Diana (# 490)
There is a neurologist, I believe in CT who believes in the hydrocodone/pain/depression link and that people in pain never heal. Wish I could get there to be treated. Meanwhile Kratom is your best safest bet.
Re: Brambo (# 491)
Thank you kindly. I'm in NJ. I take kratom, but alkalinity causes me problems. I need a low dose hydrocodone 5/325 and and I'm great all day. Unfortunately, many suffer for over abuse by others. I still have rotator cuff pain too but surgeon cut me off. I tried online and got ripped off. If you know of any in NJ or alternative methods I'm willing to try again.
Re: NutsyFagin (# 482)
That is exactly what I took 1/2 and felt great. I never took more than one a day. My last rx was 2019. I need a refill but it's insane. In fact the # of rx's over past several years for opiates was ?? but deaths due to OD's were up.?? That's just wrong. People resort to street drugs and are dying.
Re: Jenc (# 487)
Thank you kindly for understanding.
Yes, and it works. Long term short term.
Re: Diana (# 492)
I went to online and what was I thinking. Got ripped off as well. But that stuff is junk anyway
100%agree and the same things happen to me. My own therapists can see the difference. Wishes she could prescribe.
Please someone help me
Re: Joe B (# 11)
Do you know why hydrocodone reduces depression?
Re: Optimistic (# 503)
I tried adderall. Or adderall salts? I felt better but then no matter what dose I crashed. Then anxiety. I didn't get that from Norco.
