Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall)
(Newest replies first)
Updated
For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.
Re: Maria (# 248)
Try wallgreens or Walmart they use a different distributor than rite aid and CVS.
Re: Trina (# 251)
The FDA says they’re discontinued so I am surprised pharmacies are using them still they should be recalled.
I think they finally discontinued it and that, plus Teva’s labor shortage, is why the shortage is expected to last until March.
Aurobindo adderall was fake I am almost positive. I complained on line to the FDA about it & I asked my doctor to write “do not dispense Aurobindo” on all my scripts.
CVS and Rite Aid used to only stock those so I use Walgreens or Walmart.
Re: Hamster (# 246)
Update: I tried Aurobindo again and it was worthless. I'm 10000% sure they've thinned out te ingredients to stretch them due to the shortage
Re: Trina (# 249)
You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!! It's a damn shame
Re: Maria (# 248)
I filed a report with the FDA a few months ago regarding the worthless TeVA brand. It's all garbage now and we're all suffering as a result. And yes, including the pain options. It's so sad
Well I know we are now in 2022. And original post was 2014. However, I’m also on Aurobindo Adderall and absolutely NOTHING has changed!!! I get so nauseous, can’t concentrate, and fell like I’m going to fall asleep all the damn time! I work in a pharmacy and this med is constantly on back order or there’s just simply not enough to fill for any new patients and sometimes we even run out for our established patients since the DEA puts limits on how many we can order a week/month! Plus the pharmacy has no choice but to take whatever Adderall the company supplying the meds send to us. So unfortunately, we can’t pick and chose which manufacture(s) are sending us the meds and yes it sucks!! I agree something needs to be done and maybe the meds need to be checked to see what is or isn’t in them! These and C2 pain meds since they r worthless as well! Especially since the “opioid crisis” Rant over sorry for the book!
Re: James (# 244)
There is a reddit thread where someone shared an article that said Teva was having issues due to a labor shortage in the packaging plant (I think it was packaging) which would explain why it’s not showing up on the FDA shortages page.
The Wallgreens I use has 10 mg no problem. Maybe you can get three 10 mg doses?
Re: Trina (# 240)
My treatment experience with aurbindo was the best hate having to deal with other manufactores
Re: James (# 244)
My Walgreens in FL had Teva 30mg a few weeks ago. But they no longer work very well.
The Camber were worthless.
Since the backorder began, I have had Lannett, Mallinkrodt and Camber. Progressively worse. I would be happy to have the Lannett back.
Re: HCStymie (# 243)
I have always preferred Teva, yet this month Walgreens gave me a generic manufactured by Camber Pharmaceuticals.
The difference was profound!
The Camber generic actually made me fall asleep, and the reason I take Adderall is for narcolepsy.
Agree. This crappy generic brand takes at least twice the dosage to equal the effectiveness of any good generic. I need 40 to 60 mg a day of the good ones. You can't get prescriptions for 80 to 120mg of these crappy ones to make up for it. Plus the filler they use is inferior and generates gas.
I usually am prescribed Teva. There’s a back order in Philadelphia and when I finally found a Walgreens who said they had 30 tablets of 30 mg of Teva (I normally take it twice a day) I went and picked it up. When I got home it wasn’t Teva, it was Aurobindo. I figured I would give it a try bc it was better than nothing. I was also charged the same price as 60 tablets. It’s been over a week and I feel terrible. It has made me depressed, tired, terrible headaches, and angry. I feel like I have no control over my feelings or thoughts. I don’t know what to do.
Re: Bunnyrehab (# 209)
Yes it's the only one that works for me too but caused stomach pains and constipation. I don't like the crash with teva
Re: JR (# 229)
Uhgggg, that Mallinckrodtis THE WORSE!!! I had my Dr. rewrite my prescription so that I could get another mfr. I got Teva from Cosco here in Orlando but the crash is the worst. It has me so irritable. The Auronbindo was actually perfect for me.
Re: JR (# 229)
I was just given this for the first time. I came here immediately to research about it. What is different about it?
Thank you!
Re: steveg (# 236)
Adderall is the brand of Mixed Amphetamine Salts. Mallinckrodt, Teva and Takeda produce the generic version; Takeda only the XR form. (This list is probably incomplete.)
Re: Tmich (# 213)
This is totally random but this is exactly what I did but I didn’t even know it till just now. I had been taking actual brand Adderall dextroamph. 10 mg xr and I got a refill from a different Pharmacy but didn’t even realize it was a different manufacturer-Aurobindo same 10 mg xr. I never looked at the label. Today, after probably 8 weeks of taking the Aurobindo dextroamph. I pulled the bottle out of the cabinet and was just getting some to reload my weekly pill case and I noticed the name aurobindo. The last 2 months after switching and not even knowing it, I have had the worst “runs” I have had and more often than not but I thought it was what I was eating bc I have noticed a major increase in hunger which I thought was maybe a hormonal changes being 44 years old. I have also noticed, I have not felt like myself. I have felt reclusive, a lot more easily agitated, I have been short with my daughter and even with relatives and all along I thought it must be hormonal. Had blood work done and hormones are 100% healthy and normal. Why was I suddenly crying for no reason, angry when I had to wake up to take my daughter to school, suddenly not as involved with my child’s studies, room mom stuff and her sports, like I have been her whole life up until 2 months ago, right when I started this stuff. I’ve been feeling like a different person. I own a small kids entertainment business and we are booming now but I have been slacking, not like me, So I am someone who went from taking brand to Aurobindo without even knowing it. Brand for 20 years, never felt like this that’s for sure. So from my experience not knowing and just looking online today, I’m gonna have to say I don’t think people are just making this up. When I get back on my Brand Adderall and off this here soon, I will post again bc I really hope the way I am feeling is just from this Aurobindo and not anything else going on. I have no reason to bash any company but if this is the cause of such a sudden drastic change in me, a healthy, happy person who’s life feels somewhat upside down at the moment, then I feel like people deserve to hear my experience because maybe they will catch it a lot sooner than I did if they are feeling similar to me and can find something that works better for them.
I vaguely remember the AMPHETAMINE SALTS formulation. I do not remember who made those... They where a generic substitute for adderall for a while...
Re: Tmich (# 213)
If this situation wasn’t so horrifying I might actually find your post comedic.
You and your ASSumptions won’t be getting a rebuttal from me that’s for sure.
