Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 8)

Updated

For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.

Re: Ethan (# 140) Expand Referenced Message

IR instant release are the tablets either the Teva football shaped ones or circular others, XR are the capsules with the little beads. Teva works best for me as well. The aurobindo brand made me anxious, nauseated and achy and little to no help with actual focus. I’d rather space out then take those again. Thankfully I found my Walgreens near by does Teva (CVS changed generics nearly monthly until then ended up going aurobindo). Crazy two medications are called the same name but completely different.

For me personally, TEVA IR was once very strong, but with in the last three years, its efficacy and potency have dramatically decreased But remains the best choice in my opinion

Re: Ethan (# 138) Expand Referenced Message

It sounds like Adderall is not for you? Sometimes, certain bodies “recognize” this medication almost as if it were street amphetamine. AND..... forget the doctors that have NEVER had to take it........The Aurobindo Adderall are pure poison. Doing absolutely nothing in the way of helping. Perhaps you will have to take that damn leap of faith we all hate and try something else for ADD... I wonder.....My mouth swells up due to being allergic to different “coloring dyes” and especially when they are concentrated as one of the (inactive) ingredients to color a medication.....could this possibly be others issues as well? I can eat seafood by the tableful so it’s not an iodine issue......I’m also allergic to Sulfa based meds, I wonder if it contained that? People that are Lactose or Gluten intolerant go through absolute hell before they decide to look up those inactive ingredients...... only to find Lactose, wheat, Gluten based fillers.

Sometimes if I’m just having a bad day or my body is really hurting, I’ll call Aurobindo’s corporate office and tell whomever “The companies medications suck, and why do they turn out such hideous crap. C’mon, if methamphetamine addicts can afford to make this s***, surely you could “clean” up your nasty ass drugs. I realize making methamphetamine and taking Adderall are two different things, but Aurobindo.....your a shame to the name— Adderall.” I know it doesn’t get me anywhere, but It gives me a laugh on a tough day.

Best of Luck, it is a search and rescue for Adderall that isn’t Aurobindo. Oh, and God forbid they tell you over the phone what manufacturer they carry at the pharmacy....(always treated like s*** for no reason, other than stigmatizing.....I’m a 45 year old woman who tries to be as transparent and helpful to my pharmacists as possible) But.....alas, nope. You must check your meds BEFORE you even open the bag, look at the makers name.....go TO the pharmacist explain your problem and see if anyone could help you? I kind of approach it that way... “I can’t tolerate the Aurobindo in my body, is there another way we can solve this so I don’t have to keep going through it?”

I love my mom and Pop pharmacy.....I HAD to move from those mega corporate stores. It’s not the pharmacist's fault at these big stores, the corporate office puts so many demands on them, that is one hell of a job!! You walk into my little pharmacy and make yourself a cup of coffee, chat with the people working there, and my daughter loves “Free ice cream Fridays” ??. If your insurance will cover you at a smaller pharmacy....anyone is better off going there. And don’t be fooled by your insurance card either! For years I thought I didn’t have a choice but CVS, because it says CVS Caremark prescriptions on the card, (just a marketing partnership) you might very well be covered at a 100 other places too.

I'm taking Zenzedi now (name brand straight dex). Works perfectly, without all the nasty adderall side effects

Yes. I won’t even take them because they give me wicked anxiety. I drive way out of my way for the Tevas.

Wow, SO glad to find that I am not alone in my assumption that the Aurobindo generic adderall has been causing my intense anxiety, headaches, stomach ache and overall not-well feeling within the past week. All issues that I rarely experience, let alone all at the same time. It was so bad I was calling my friends and family to talk with them about my feelings because I felt so off and generally down. Definitely not like me at all!

It is frightening to imagine the amount of people out there who may also be taking this and not realize it is the medicine causing their problems. Usually I get my prescription filled at Walgreens (they have Teva as generic), but got mine filled at Kroger this time because it was more convenient. I will absolutely file a complaint with the FDA.

Adderall affects everyone differently. I personally have found Aurobindo to be the most effective generic brand for me. I've tried CorePharma, Teva, Sandoz, and Malinckrodt. The only one that was similar in effectiveness was Sandoz, and I hear even Sandoz is hard to find these days. Core and Teva were essentially sugar pills to me at the dosage I'm prescribed.
Most of the negative symptoms people are describing here are textbook signs of Amphetamine overdose. Maybe try and take a lower dose of Aurobindo? They may seem too strong to some, but unlike Teva and Core, I've never heard of Aurobindo feeling like a placebo to anyone.

I have boycotted Aurobindo since last’s fall. I agree with you completely

Re: Katie (# 146) Expand Referenced Message

My gf noticed right away when starting the aurobindos the nasty side effects, and said they did nothing at all but give headaches, did not feel at all like adderall. I didn’t believe her at first thinking it was all in her head. But she switched to Teva this month and likes those. Avoid Aurobindos and any unregulated crap coming from India. It’s like taking pills and you have no idea what’s in them for fillers. Quite a gamble.

I previously found Sandoz to be okay but that changed. Now the only one that’s effective is Teva. I have to go to my small neighborhood pharmacy. My doctor also writes on the Script to give me Teva only. I agree that when you ask your doctor to give you a different one it sounds like your drug seeking or something which is very embarrassing and unnecessary if we didn’t have these lousy generics. Fortunately my doctor did research and found out that they’re allowed to have quite a difference in the effectiveness of generics by the FDA . Auribondo is just fillers in my opinion it just crumbles and falls apart very ineffective.

Re: Mouse1021 (# 150) Expand Referenced Message

Noticed the same thing with the Aurobindos- they crumble like you indicated. The Tevas (orange round footballs with small letter “b” and 974 on one side and the number 30 on other side (mg dose), are dense and hard tablets. They are harder to snap in half. The letter “b” may stand for “Barr” since Teva lab acquired Barr a decade ago. That is only my speculation.

The pharma industry is very competitive and there are constant acquisitions and mergers occurring that are difficult to keep up with. I would not feel guilty if I had to request my doctor write a note on script: “please use X brand only” or “Do not fill with Aurobindos due to allergic effects or ineffectiveness on patient”. There are online sources that indicate that the FDA has warned Aurobindo in recent years about the efficacy and impurities in the ingredients of their drugs.

I have ADD, sleep apnea, and shift-worker sleep disorder. My gf has ADHD. I take 30 mg adderall XR by Prasco and 30 mg Adderall IR by Teva daily. She takes 30 mg IR twice a day. I ended up trying her 30 mg Aurobindos for one week to see if it was a psychological thing with her. It was not. The auros caused immediate side effects: headaches, horrible tension in my neck, spine, watery eyes, and I was stuttering when trying to speak with co-workers. How uncomfortable and embarrassing that was. I took that bottle of auros and put it down the garbage disposal, deeming it a poison. She is now on Tevas and is back to normal functioning. I am back to normal functioning also.

We both also like yerba mate. It has a lot of anti-oxidants and polyphenols and can help with focus and concentration.

I just got my adderall filled and they gave me the Auro this month when they always give me the Teva. If I’m not responding to he auro like most, how would I go about seeing if they can replace my prescription. Do I go to the doctor or the pharmacy. It is a mom a pop one.

DO NOT TAKE AUROBINDO GENERIC ADDERALL!!! I cant make this any more clearer!!! I have been on adderall since 2010. I had no problems ever with it. I am on 30mg twice a day and in February, I got it filled at Dillions in Wichita, KS. It was called SANDOZ and they were big and round and orange and I didnt feel anything from it. If anything, it made me feel tired. So I asked the pharmacy the next month to give me the other stuff that I have been getting. This time I got my 'usual' (so i thought) AUROBINDO and it looked the same. It was the same peach color and round and had the same imprints. One thing i noticed about this time, was that they were soft and when i broke them in half, its like the CRUMBLED. The other ones were hard and when you broke them in half, it made a snap sound. These new ones were not the same. They seemed to melt in my mouth and i noticed within 5 mins, i would get a HEADACHE behind my right eye. At first i thought it was just me, or I was getting sick. Because i had never before gotten headaches from adderall. But for 30 days straight, i took my AUROBINDO adderall and had a headache every day in the same place for 30 days straight. I didnt take my adderall and I felt fine. So when I went to get a refill, I went to Walgreens and got my TEVA's which are football shaped and orange and have the imprints b/974 and 30 on the other side. These work GREAT!!! I have not head one single headache this month. I am going to go pick up my new prescription from Walgreens today and I am going to say that it was the AUROBINDO's that were giving me headaches and stuff.

So now that I got that out of the way, i started a medication that i have been on since 2010 as well. Remeron. I was on 15mg and my doctor upped my dosage to 30mg. I have been taking it for 2 months and i never paid any attention until lately when i realized that i was not only NOT HAPPY, but i was NOT DEPRESSED, I WAS ANGRY. I was going crazy and lashed out and thought evil thoughts that i never thought of before. I looked at my bottle.. and i was so pissed when i saw who was making this... AUROBINDO. Those a**holes over there are making US SICK!!!!!! I am stopping my remeron cold turkey. I will deal with the side effects because the side effects im experiencing now, are pretty bad. Remeron is supposed to help with depression, and it DID for 8 years, up until the last 2 months. Then i checked out who was making it.... Aurobindo needs to be shut down. But its impossible. Let's just hope we can warn as many people as possible. This drug is f***ing killing us.

If you just filled your script, is there anything you can do to get the Teva manufactured brand?

Re: Monza (# 154) Expand Referenced Message

Hi. Did you ALREADY get your script filled? If so, what is the brand? Where did you get it filled? If you're comfortable telling, what state? I'm from Kansas. I get my stuff in Wichita. I used DILLIONS pharmacy for 7 years for my adderall until I got that aurobindo s***. Now i go to walgreens and they give me the TEVA's.

Re: Christie (# 155) Expand Referenced Message

I am in NH and Wallgreens has 20 mg Tevas.
CVS and Rite Aid carry the Aurobindo (sp?) so I won’t go there. They gave me major anxiety.

Re: Christie (# 153) Expand Referenced Message

I disagree...The sugar teva footballs are weaker and less potent than the auro u31's. I just took 90mg 1 and a half hours ago....Pupils dilated....Edm music sounds amazing, 10/10 laser focus....And no anxiety... So why all the hate for these addys? I've had literally every type (mylan, core, teva brand and generic, mallinkrodt, aurobindo, sandoz and even ol' school shire ad/30's). So after 12 years of adderall use I think I would notice if the daily medication I take everyday caused headaches, sleepiness, and anxiety... I swear aurobindo must have improved their plant's quality cuz my pills aren't crumbly and work all too well...Don't hate, just take!

wow i found 1 person without a negative aurobindo comment regarding adderall ir....literally 99 percent of people get on this hate bandwagon and scare others into thinking there meds arent working....believe me these u31's go hard af and i'm regretting having taking 90 mg ... could have just taken 30....so i'm really happy to see someone without a bias against this brand...i mean cmon guys

Re: WokenWarrior (# 158) Expand Referenced Message

I recently got diagnosed and got put on Adderall. I ended up getting Aurobindo 20mg. Keep in mind this was my first time ever on any meds so I had zero tolerance. Well I took the meds and felt absolute nothing. Literally felt NOTHING but appetite suppression.
