Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 4) (Top voted first)

Updated

For several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.

ha... I got the opposite. I HATE aurobindo. Gave me intense anxiety, tenseness, made me jitter, headaches... And all the pharmacies around me carry either Aurobindo or Mallincrockdt...

So, go onto the FDA website, and file the complaint, using this website for reference. I did. I think I will file it again and again until whomever monitors the site decides to say something. But, I can't be the only one.

Re: MsDeeds (# 205) Expand Referenced Message

I think that we are the only people that feel like Aurobindo is the best Adderall on the market. I take 2 30mg Aurobindo Adderall IR a day and I am very focused, can stop and think before making any impulsive decision, and being a woman, the bonus was that I lost 40lbs in 4 months. Honestly, with the weight loss, I ate normally, but I believe that it being a stimulant and finally being productive and getting all of the things done that needed to get done, really helped my situation. I am probably one of the only people that feels as if Teva is the s****iest Adderall on the market. If I wanted to be able to feel focused and productive aka normal, I would probably have to take handfuls of that s*** multiple times a day.

If you have details or links regarding where you found that aurobindo amphetamine salts medicine (generic adderll) has been changed please post asap. Until i found this site, I had searched all day and part of yesterday for even a recent post and all that kept coming up was info from 2014. Even though that was good because you see how long this company has been selling this crap with known identical side effects from numerous people and further more found out that CVS pharmacy has some sort of exclusive partnership or dealing with aurobindo and they make huge profit margins from this "medicine". Tomorrow I will actually be removing all my prescriptions from them after dealing with the pharmacist and then reading exactly what she said from someone else that posted their interaction with cvs, a script from the big boys at the company. They don't care and that proves it to me. If you use them BOYCOTT CVS!!!!!!! I will also be printing some of these pages to give to her for her conscience to deal with, it is amazing how crooked some medical professionals are just to make a buck at the expense of peoples lives, and most think ISIS is americas #1 enemy, but these more dangerous terrorists are on every f'n corner in my town. Anyway... I can't wait to see what the real medicines do for ADD, I have only had this one, which was a life change until this batch i got two weeks ago. Now i am tying so many things together from the last 2 months as well. I thought i was crazy or something until i started reading every single side effect i had before, but mainly the current side effects from the new batch which had a new name, but the pharmacist swore up and down she new of no changes to the med, but i kept questioning, because i am pretty darn persistant. But this batch is killing me, but i fear the withdraw and return of pre med condition which i never want to experience again. Have to get into doc tomorrow and if can't get appt will sit up there all day if i have to for walk in and med change. I do hope these people are held responsible for their crimes, because they are criminals and all the employees that just tow the lines are accessories during and after the fact. Please everyone keep writing and advising others about this, because no doctors are going to do it and you know the companies will just keep on pushing bad stuff, because they are pushers, its just a really big corner they operate on. No telling what they cut some of these meds with, SICK!!!!

Ditto. I not only suffer from ADHD but my RA doctor recommended Adderall because of my extreme fatigue due to three autoimmune diseases. All these months I've been in bed because the Aurobindo generic wasn't working. I'm also very angry. I've been unable to do anything! It's time to file a complaint with the FDA.

I'm taking aurobindo adderall currently and I'm actually going through terrible agitation, repetitive body behavior, anxiety, and feel faint. I feel so horrible. I'm trying to warn others, do not take this medication. Something is wrong with it. I almost went to the er today. Haven't slept either for 3 days. Thank you to others who posted... At least I don't feel alone. Going off this s*** now.

OK, so I said initial script of 30 mg Aurobindo adderall was similar to Core and I would revert back in 5 days if my original statement held true. So here it is: They suck. So weak that after 4 days I might as well be taking a sugar pill. Mood has declined , very snappy to all (especially my wife), anti social ( wonderful as I am at a destination wedding)and just feel "off." I will make appt with Doc on return, give him the rest of this candy and hope we can fill to plan b.

I'm one of the people who doesn't mind AuroBindo. There's no question it is different then Teva and not as strong. I need to up my dose on it. I found it be less euphoric and less jittery then TEVA but still a strong enough amphetamine to put me to work.

I prefer Teva, and will get that next month but am not freaking out like some on here.

Re: ChadB (# 121) Expand Referenced Message

I agree. I was on aurobindo for almost 10 months and they saved my life. In November my pharmacy changed my morning 20mg dose to Teva and afternoon 10mg to Sandoz. I thought nothing of it at first, but after a day or so, I was spiraling. I assumed it was holiday depression or seasonal affective disorder. The Sandoz seemed ok, but the Teva (orange footballs) were just plain ineffective. I really appreciate resources like this, because I honestly felt like I was going crazy or regressing back to where I was before I was treated. Side note: pharmacy explained that they can't get Aurobindo anymore? Has anyone heard anything about that manufacturer?

TL:DR: I switched from 15 mg to 20 mg on Aurobindo and suddenly had a whole host of new problems: trouble sleeping, jittery focus, and inflammation in my mouth to the extent that my tongue has a perfect impression of the inside ridges of my teeth, I'm constantly biting the sides of my tongue, and I have sores opening up in the corners of my upper lip. Anybody else have this problem?

Full Story:

After fighting (and largely failing) to deal with my ADD, I asked my doctor to prescribe Adderall back in Nov '17. I had a bad experience with it in my teens, but with a baby and a new job, I needed all the focus I could get. He started me on 15 mg.

I went with Teva from Walgreen's for the first 2 months, but because the drive was cumbersome, I went to the CVS down the street for month #3 and got Aurobindo. Didn't notice a difference other than taste of the pill.

However, my experience was still a steady regression. Not going to lie, my first impression of Teva was subtle, but effective. I thought it might be a placebo, but after missing a dose or two, I noticed a decline in impulse control. Unfortunately, the pill was still losing ground overall with controlling the random focus shifting typical of my particular type of ADD.

At my 3 month check-up, I asked the doc to up my dose, which he did very hesitantly. I went to the pharmacy over lunch and started my second daily dose that afternoon. Immediately I noticed a stuttering focus, but I attributed that to my body adjusting. Then the swelling began...

I noticed my mouth felt both sensitive and hot. My tongue was rubbing my teeth and not from nervousness behavior. Sometimes, as the mustache of my beard grows out, the short hairs will make shallow cuts on my upper lip, to which I attributed the growing sores in the corners of my mouth, but after a day of them getting larger instead of healing (one opening up to almost 1/4" dia), I stopped taking the pills all together.

After a day, the swelling was almost gone and the sores closed up. Thinking it was the dosage, I cut the 20mg pills into quarters and took three quarters to equal the 15 mg dosage. Immediately the cycle of swelling returned, but not as fiercely. The next day I dug out the left over 15 mg pills (same manufacturer, Aurobindo) and experienced zero inhibited focus, no swelling, and the same lack of effectiveness that caused me to ask my doctor for an increase in the dose in the first place.

So what have you got, internet people? Any sympathizers? Any advice?

Re: Kelly (# 160) Expand Referenced Message

I am going through a horrible two weeks after switching to CVS from Walgreens because CVS near my house is open 24 hours. CVS filled my generic adderall with auro-fill/aurobindo the chalky, round pinkish pills that have the U30 markings. I researched the company and found that Auro-bindo aka Auro-Life in 2018 was removed from the market in the US from 2006-2013. The reason was active ingredients in generics less than 50%, and contaminants in the drugs. I had been on Teva for over a year and was doing very well. After my first dose of this "medication" I knew they were crap. They didn't work. Period. But worse they did the opposite of provide focus, they made me sleepy, and disoriented. Then jittery and got nausea, headache. After that first dose I literally fell asleep. I couldn't shake the lethargy. By the end of the day I was extremely depressed. The kind of gloom that makes everything seem futile and awful for human life in general. Hard to explain. I tried one more day or two and the depression wasn't as bad but the pills just didn't work. No energy, no clarity or focus. Just an edgy choppy feeling, that made me disoriented. It was as if I had to think about every normal action to force my body to comply. Awful. I felt poisoned. I called CVS and Doctor and I was given another script. I haven't picked it up yet from her office but I am going to tomorrow, paying for the Auro-Life/Aurobindo shot my medication budget for the month so I had to wait until I could pay for a prescription for Teva. I'm not getting it filled at CVS, in fact I'm transferring all my medications, back to Walgreens. I wish someone would run a chemical analysis on these pills, I guarantee that they are not even close to the 80% of active ingredients required by law. To get any relief I have had to almost double my dosage. And then it only lasts, if it works at all, for about an hour to an hour and a half. And the odd disoriented feeling is still there. If someone would run an evaluation on these pills, I would join a class action. This company was taken off the U.S. market for seven years I'm sure when they were selling pills with half of the active ingredients (and contaminants) they were making millions in profits. If no one is monitoring them is it unreasonable to think they would try it again? These generics are not cheap. I paid $72.00 for the privilege of feeling like hell, setting me back in my work, and just all because a company in India is selling god knows what and calling it generic adderall. I have had some of the same less serious side effects like numb fingers and legs/feet feeling of physical weakness and body aches. And yes, I also got sores inside my mouth. But the worst part is struggling to get through the day. I agree with one commentator that the feeling is similar to ephedra that crappy stuff drug stores, or variety stores and gas stations sold. Taking a Sudafed provides more focus. Someone please analyze this pill. I want them off the market.

Just my 2 cents here. I’ve been on all the generic adderall brands over the last 6 years. Barr was the best until Teva bought them out. I noticed, as well as many others that it wasn’t effective towards the end of 2017 (coincidentally the same time express scripts dropped coverage of the name brand, forcing insurances to drop it, hence saving them money, and the downfall of Teva). Teva also bought out Aurobindo/Aurolife, Corepharma joined with Impax but recently branched off and will soon be making generics again. Mallinckrodt and Mylan are garbage. But everyone’s different! I recently switched from Teva to Aurobindo, so far, so good.

Just switched to these u30 aurobindo from CVS, immediately noticed I felt different in a bad way. Heart racing a little, but my focus on a 1-10 scale was at a -5. So scatter brained and forgetful, but wide awake.. they are garbage. Never had this effect from any other generic I've taken.

Re: Lesley (# 183) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you for your reply. Yes, variations of the generic form, most especially aurobindo, causes depression. I mean to say that beyond soporific, I was also sad, lacked incentive and motivation, frowned, had no joy not to mention not being able to create a happy home environment for my family, or work. Doctors? I live in California; we don't have doctors who studied or interned in the USA. My current doctor just said he doesn't know what to do for me. He has no new course of treatment for me for which he is able to document according to insurance guidelines. In fact, that medical group does not treat using formulates that they know will require corresponding with insurance companies. Pretty flippin' sad, yes?

I found an independent pharmacy to provide Teva,. and I was sooo happy with them. Then, CVS bought them out, and filled my perscription with mixed generics, telling me they were selling me Teva, and labeling the bottle, "Teva," (I checked the bottle name before leaving the store to verify Teva. When I got home and opened the bottle, I found they were not all Teva. How about that?

I have reported for the FDA! I am also having twitching in both of my eyes due to this crap! This aurobindo adderall is NOT ADDERALL! I’m cutting myself back and getting off this horse crap, pharmaceutical, test pig bus!! I’ve had enough

Man, consider yourself lucky that you haven't experienced the desperation of what people are describing. One day functioning fine and just like that, it's impossible to even keep sh*t together. It's not nocebo/placebo. After taking many different generics for years that were totally fine, people are struggling and experiencing these problems. They go reaching out online for solutions and support. I personally didn't know there were different companies making them until the problems started and I looked for answers. I learned that's what those letters on the bottle meant.. it had never crossed my mind before.

I have always preferred Teva, yet this month Walgreens gave me a generic manufactured by Camber Pharmaceuticals.

The difference was profound!

The Camber generic actually made me fall asleep, and the reason I take Adderall is for narcolepsy.

Denise, you can ask your Dr. for a new prescription, but your insurance may not pay for it. Your Dr. would want to know if an Rx is not working as it should. Good luck

Have experienced the new Aurobindo and want to nickname it Aerobimbo, as in airhead, as in INEFFECTIVE. It is essentially useless for me. Spoke with original brand Adderall pharm brand name last spring and they told me "Teva" follows the original formula. I have taken adderall for over a decade (brand, then Teva and Barr generic formulations) for neurofatigue from a traumatic brain injury - TBI - and w/o proper medication and dosage, I sleep most the day, am unproductive, unfocused, moody and get depressed and quick to anger. Proper med and I function like my normal professional self. Airheadbimbo brand is THE WORST I have ever experienced. Didn't think to ask at the pharmacy today and I got the same peach pills as last month - a disastrous month for me. I thought my symptoms were due to life events, but it is clearly the inferior brand. I'm on medicaid, so there is likely no way I can remedy this now. Will call pharmacy in AM because I cannot afford to be lethargic and dimwitted all day every day for a month. The ongoing generic Adderall debacles (shortages, price hikes, now ineffective brands) is killing my career. Stanford grad - even with TBI - and I'm not functioning. If anyone knows what steps to take to file complaints, please let me know. Other stimulants are not effective for me, so I'm in a pinch until next month. This inconsistency in ingredients, percentage of active drug and fillings needs consistency; the FDA is sleeping on the job. Aerobimbo must go.
