Teva 30mg Vs Aurobindo Pharm Amphetamine Salts (adderall) (Page 11) (Top voted first)
UpdatedFor several years I've taken TEVA 30mg Amphetamine Salts 2x daily with consistent positive relief. Focus and a feeling that I could have a productive day gave me a reason to get out of bed. On 8/21/2014 all that changed to nervous anxiety filled days staying home. What caused the dramatic change quickly became clear. The generic Adderall produced by AUROBINO PHARM which my regular CVS Pharmacy filled my RX with on 8/21 was less than effective it was exasperating the very symptoms for which it was prescribed. FDA is an ineffective bureaucracy controlled by lobbyists for foreign and domestic pharmaceutical companies making huge profits in generic drugs at the expense of the health and quality of life of others. The manufacturing of inferior or possibly harmful medications by greedy corporations will continue to grow until a strong GOOD DRUG coalition is formed. Tomorrow I know I will be calling my pharmacy, CVS Corporation, my Dr., and make a report to the FDA. I will also try my damnedest never to purchase a drug produced by AUROBINDO PHAR.
I have taken Adderal x 3 tabs per day, I get them from CVS, Walgreens, wall Mart
Sometimes I get a script that is close to useless, normally my scripts work, my insurance says it will pay for Brand, but no pharmacy keeps it and don't say yes, when I asked them to order is In advance. I've read their can be as much as 30% difference in strength. What company, if you know, makes the best generic formula?

You took put up with the symptoms for "a few months"!? Good god man! I couldn't stand it for half a week!
Its interesting that you experienced that with Teva (also, the IR stands for Instant Release right? I've never tried the extended release). I had my reaction to Aurobindo (CVS generic), but Teva seems to work a lot better with my body chemistry. I'm on the 15 mg nominal release (regular release? Instant release? I don't understand pharma naming rationale) and I feel like my mouth may be a little sensitive: its easier to burn from hot food easier and cute my tongue and cheeks with teeth. Still, its barely noticeable compared to the massive swelling I had on Aurobindo.
Also, I got back on the Teva 15 mg, and now I don't feel as strongly about needing to increase my dosage. Maybe the Aurobindo was just not working with my body chemistry.
I have boycotted Aurobindo since last’s fall. I agree with you completely

I previously found Sandoz to be okay but that changed. Now the only one that’s effective is Teva. I have to go to my small neighborhood pharmacy. My doctor also writes on the Script to give me Teva only. I agree that when you ask your doctor to give you a different one it sounds like your drug seeking or something which is very embarrassing and unnecessary if we didn’t have these lousy generics. Fortunately my doctor did research and found out that they’re allowed to have quite a difference in the effectiveness of generics by the FDA . Auribondo is just fillers in my opinion it just crumbles and falls apart very ineffective.
Re: MrsRobbinson (# 143)
I just got my adderall filled and they gave me the Auro this month when they always give me the Teva. If I’m not responding to he auro like most, how would I go about seeing if they can replace my prescription. Do I go to the doctor or the pharmacy. It is a mom a pop one.
If you just filled your script, is there anything you can do to get the Teva manufactured brand?
Re: Monza (# 154)
Hi. Did you ALREADY get your script filled? If so, what is the brand? Where did you get it filled? If you're comfortable telling, what state? I'm from Kansas. I get my stuff in Wichita. I used DILLIONS pharmacy for 7 years for my adderall until I got that aurobindo s***. Now i go to walgreens and they give me the TEVA's.

Everyone else has chalk pills. Maybe you just lucked out. I feel like I'm going to die from this poison
Re: Hate Aurobindo Brand Adderall (# 1)
Exactly!! Wow, could not have articulated it better.
I have been getting adderall for about a year now they are orange semi round b 973 I'm not sure what company it's from yet...its all I've ever had from Walgreens..what does your look like?. I Have been watching a few utube vidios on adderall Dr. Charles Parker has about 6 good ones I found that the 20mg probably need to be taken x3 daily..its good info for someone like me that's somewhat new
Very well said & every word is true unfortunately. Thanks
Re: Lesley (# 173)
I am so happy to have this conversation with a professional. In response to directions regarding the choice of manufacturer of chosen generic the doctor offered that he was not sure the insurance would pay for a potentially more costly manufactured product. That is, we cannot compensate the pharmacy for the profit margin loss on sale of the product.
So, are you saying that Walgreens would continue to carry a brand that produced a lower profit margin? This problem, I believe, is at the foundation of our problem. I don't have a problem with Pharmaceuticals funding FDA (so long as it is public information) as that is a standard arrangement between commissioners and the product. I'd rather focus on solving the problem of profit margins for pharmacies (some of them mom n pop stores) for medications that are more costly to produce and distribute.
Can you speak to this?
My very best regards,
Chris
Re: Chris (# 177)
If your doctor says you must have the name brand, the insurance company cannot deny payment.
I just know I've always been given the same orange football shape 30mg Adderall. Only once in 7 years was there a different pill.
I picked up my Adderall script yesterday at my CVS and I went in the day previous to see if they had or could order the Teva brand for me. The girl who does the ordering who is really great told me that they had lots of it in and there would be no problem with filling my script the next morning. I went in as soon as the opened the next day and the girl working told me they didn't have the 60 pills to fill my script. I told her what I was thinking the day before and she said they go really really fast because people come fromall over looking for the Teva brand and they were the only CVS in the area to have any. I was going to bring my script somewhere else when they didn't get anymore in their shipment. I ended up talking to the girl I know who orders and she said we have 59 Teva pills if you want to just get one fewer. I was fine with that. It just seems to be getting harder and harder to get it. They always seem to have the aurobindo brand though...
I feel like I should try the brand name.. Even though they are not what the used to be I'm sure they are better than any generic. If my doctor writes brand name only on the script will my insurance cover it or would I be stuck paying out of pocket???
Thanks for the information, it was helpful to my refill.

Dear Shawn, we are contacting from Aurobindo pharma and we are concerned about your complaint. We would like to know further details about your complaint. Please contact us via [email protected] so that can speak with you for further assistance.
Had a few scripts filled with Aurobindo, never had a medical problem with them. I prefer Teva pills since they taste better and feel higher quality.
Re: Bunnyrehab (# 209)
Winn Dixie grocery/pharmacy carries it.
I've only has success with Aurobindo. On it consistently for several months; great, no issues, consistent. CVS randomly swaps me to another manufacturer (technically with a different name: Aurobindo = Amphetamine Salts, Octopharma/Core = Dextroamphetamine amphetamine salts). So far every manu but Aurobindo has been inconsistent and will "catch up" to me causing nausea and sometimes a headache. With diet and most other variables remaining constant, there should be no reason for the 'new' effects. Doesn't even feel like the same drug. If I can't get Aurobindo back I'll prib discontinue adhd med usage.
Noteworthy: First ever horrible experiences with the pharmacy involving this med. Supply/demand has seemingly destroyed the quality of both manufacturing and sales of adhd medication. - at least on the generic adderal side.
