Switched Pharmacies, Recurrence Of Symptoms

I've been on levothyroxine for about 4 years supplemental to also taking Naturethroid. I've been at a stable dose of the two for two years. My old pharmacy closed about 6 months ago, so I'm not sure but I think I was getting Levoxyl there. The new pharmacy has been filling generic. I'm going to ask them to see if it's been a steady brand or not.

It seemed fine, but the past 4 months I've been experiencing extreme mood swings and anxiety and depression. And then just this week intense bilateral knee pain, intolerance to cold, and constipation have returned.

I had just gotten to a point where I was considering antidepressants, but when the other symptoms resurfaced it occurred to me that perhaps it is all thyroid related.

It's possible that the generic had an issue and is suddenly a lower strength than usual. I'm wondering if there is a pattern here because other people had good results then suddenly did not. I'm going to try switching to a name brand and see if it makes a difference. I'll post the generic brand when I find out from the pharmacy. How quickly would I notice a difference?

Hello, Corrina! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having.

When was the last time your TSH levels were checked?

It is normal for them to fluctuate and doctors usually check a person's levels every few months, to see if they require a dosage adjustment.

As to the generic manufacturer, can you please post back with a description of the tablets and the markings on them? If so, I can look up the manufacturer for you.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hair loss, mood swings and weight changes.
