Switched From Paxil To Viibryd

i have suffered from panic attacks for about 4 years now. Dr gave me Ativan to take when I felt one coming on. Earlier this year the Ativan seemed to quit working and the attacks were happening daily. Dr started me on Paxil 4 months ago. It has really helped with my attacks but I gained 30 lbs on it. Friday I was started on a viibryd starter pack. Today is my second day with it and I can already feel the attacks coming back under the surface. Is this normal?

Yes, that can be normal. Usually, you'll experience withdrawal effects from stopping the one medication, accompanied with side effects of starting the new one.

The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

If it gets too severe, you should consult your doctor.

Thank you. I started the 20mg dose of the pack today. Today has been bad. If it doesn't get better by middle of the week I will go back to my dr and tell them this is not working.

Hi Jon! How are you feeling now? Still on the Viibryd? I'm switching from Paxil to Viibryd right now because of the weight gain and the dizziness is kicking my butt! I'm also noticing anxiety is so bad if I don't take the Viibryd EXACTLY 24 hours after the last time I took it. It's like it has zero half life! Hope you're doing good!
