Switch From Suboxone To Methadone For Crohns Pain?? (Top voted first)

I'm a recovering addict, been on suboxone for 6 months now.. just had ileocecectomy for crones disease. Was given 48 morphine 15mg ir. Once gone (yesterday) was advised to resume subs. I did. It's not cutting the pain.... would methadone do better???? I don't wanna hear the withdrawal factor of methadone, just if it's potent or different enough from subs to help my pain..

Well methadone is far superior for pain relief.I doubt you switched from morphine to suboxne without the requisite time for induction.If you did wait the 4 days the levels of sub may not be sufficient to exhibit a clinical response. As a recovering addict who has tried Them both methadone is superior for those with chronic pain issues as a secondary issue.

Suboxone doesn't work for everyone for relieving pain, there have been quite a few people that complained about that issue.

Methadone is usually better at helping with pain, the FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Are you on any other medications?
