Has anyone used the new SUPREP kit before a colonoscopy?

Would like any comments about taste, ease or side effects.

Thanks!

This is my first offical colonoscopy I had to do a cleaning a few months back because of bowel isses hence the colonoscopy. The first time a few months ago I did the golightly ---AWEFUL! I can't handle salt at all and i felt the entire time i was gonna throw up. This time I have suprep and its okay, its better then the golightly. It is sickenly sweet and trying to drink all that water is aweful, feels like you are gonna literelly explode and needless to say You have to drink water and gatorade all day long at least 16 oz a hr. I have gotten thru the first "prep" and am now going. I have a feeling of cramps but also am freezining! it is 100* here and I have the heater on in my house and am wrapped in 6 blankets and sweats and sweaters and 5 pairs of socks. I even tried drinking hot hot broth and cannot get past the freezing part. I hope it goes away quickly or i may have problems. I take the second dose at 4 am and am not looking forward to the chillsa nd bloating but hopefully everything will go ok and i won't have ot have one again for a long time

It took me two hours, too. I got worried amd called the 24 hour pharmacy. A very bored pharmacy technician told me two hours was unusual, but he didn't have any good suggestions other than to call the doctor in the morning. (Thanks a bunch!). Then things started happening . . . . . quickly. Hang in there.

I have just finished my 2nd 16oz glass of water after taking the suprep, which I might add is so nasty but am still waiting for it to kick in. It has been well over an hour. I can't find any information in the booklet about how long it should take. This is all new to me so hopefully it will all work out.

I just drank my first bottle of SUPREP. The taste wasn't good, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. It tastes like salty cherry cough syrup. I was nauseated at first after drinking the 2 16oz cups of water within 45 minutes of the prep, but that went away quickly. It started working within about a half hour, but I am not sure how long it will take to completely cleanse throughout the night and tomorrow morning. I have had to drink other things for another procedure and this is definitely the easiest!

just took my first dose abt 30 min ago. Working on my fluid chaser. Gulping it down quickly worked for me, but the taste of it gave me goosebumps too. So far so good. Haven't had any urges yet, but i may already be clean. I go regularly and often. The sweet, salty taste is the hard part to get over, but it much, much better than golitely!!! Next dose at 4am. Keep your fingers crossed. Lol

This is my 7th colonoscopy in 13 years. I've always used the Fleet's Phospho-Soda. This is my 1st time using Suprep. I managed to get down 8 of 16 ounces required and within minutes I was vomiting. I called my Doctor--he said there are other preps we could try, such as the go-lightly or there are also pills that I wasn't aware of.

I'm glad to hear about the chill. I'm in the middle of my cleanse and it is 90 degrees here and I'm freezing!

This was my first colonoscopy, dr prescribed Trilyte. I read lots of bad stuff about that, so I requested change to Suprep. Taste was not good, but tolerable, kind of salty cherry flavor. It made me feel slightly nauseated, more with the second dose than the first (maybe because it was early morning). I pretty much chugged it down, with a couple of 30 second rest periods in the midst. After that it's just water, which was easy. I didn't start having BM's until 5 hours after the 1st dose! I was worried my prep would be inadequate, but I worried needlessly--the procedure went off uneventfully, and the procedure note stated that the colon prep was excellent.

Prayer was the key!!! I'm so happy for you. I'll be using the product next week, and will have prayer warriors also.

I took the first vile dose about four hours ago. I mixed it with apple juice. First few sips were tolerable. After that, I sipped two times in a row, followed by a Snapple ice tea chaser. Eventually, within 35 min I finished it all. You taste the salt on the back of your tongue. I might try the straw as someone suggested for my next dose at 10pm tonight. Might also try to mix it with ice tea; perhaps it will be better than the apple juice. Somehow I doubt it. Also, the dose worked really well and quickly for me; I'd say within 10 minutes of finishing first dose.

I did the Suprep kit & it worked well, very salty so I had to drink tea or more water after each sip to get rid of the taste, it was much easier to tolerate than the Gatorade prep. The test went well.

Suprep is the most nastiest medicine i have ever taken. Every sip i gagged. The taste is just so horrible. It is salty yet sweet and taste like salty cherry cough medicine. I had a side effect which was my legs felt really weird after 3 hours. I couldn't really walk. Also i was shivering and had goose bumps while i took it. I am shaking right now.

i used a straw and that made all the difference. place it back to skip most of the taste buds.
the taste isnt bad. more like grape to my buds.
three days before i started on a low res diet.
rice, eggs, lean chicken etc. small portions. i didn't quite finish all the mixture on the first or second round. left about 4 or five swallows. but my clean out was rated good..
i made sure i was well hydrated before the first and second course. the pictures i saw were very clear. buy using the straw i was able to do 4 or five swallows hold my nose and go again. took my time and then after drank java tea to kill the after taste. took a few swigs of gatoraid too.. it kicked in within a few min. no cramps, or nausa. did have a bit of chills on the second dose. drank hot bullion and felt just fine after that.

Are there any substitutes to Su-Prep (except Fleet's Phospho-Soda recalled by ADA in 2010) that I can buy over-the-counter as a preparation laxative for colonoscopy?

Awful. Absolutely awful. After my first cup I had no idea how I would possibly do it again. As of right now there's a quarter left in the cup and I can't get it down without vomiting. It's literally raspberry flavored salt water. The nurse, when describing the procedure, told me the raspberry would help and I think it made it worse. Hopefully this is my first and last colonoscopy. I have nothing to compare it to, but avoid Suprep... Worst... day... ever...

I took suprep an hour ago and could hardly tolerate the awful taste. I feel like throwing up it tastes so bad, on top of that I have awful bloating and pain. Have not had a bowel movement yet.

I needed to drink this for colonoscopy. I found it horrific trying to drink this.....awful taste and it caused me to almost vomit. I tried following it with water but that awful taste stayed in my mouth. Honestly, I will ask my doctor for anything but this next time.

Took first bottle at 6:00PM , held my nose was not too bad. Drank two 16 OZ of water over next 45 min. Had first movement about 7:05 then 5 or 6 more quick ones over the next two hours. Using Petroleum Jelly on bottom was a big help. If you have no insurance to pay for this call around to several pharmacies as the price varies.
