Has anyone used the new SUPREP kit before a colonoscopy?

Would like any comments about taste, ease or side effects.

Thanks!

Same with me. It does what it's supposed to do with no cramps, no nausea, no explosions, no pain.

Magnesium Citrate worked for my daughter when she just couldn't drink the prescribed stuff (the old stuff, but I think similar to Suprep). And an enema. But check with your doctor or someone at the hospital first! If you're not cleaned out you'll have to do it again!

I just did this last night and had my colonoscopy this morning. After reading this discussion, I was not looking forward to this bowel prep. However, for me it was not nearly as bad as what people have said. I know everyone is different, but the Suprep tasted like cough medicine. I mixed it with Sprite and chilled it really cold... in the freezer for a half hour. It was almost slushy. Not bad at all. I also mixed it in a bottle, rather than drink from the cup they provide. A sip of water between swigs and it was all good. Worked as it was supposed to. Two days out, all I ate was two bowls of bran flakes. I think that helped clean things out prior to the clear liquid day. Also, I think a lot of it is your state of mind. You're not drinking Kool-Aid, it's medicine.

This was not nearly as bad as the old gallon of go lightly. Not a fan of the flavor as it reminds me of cough syrup which I hate. But overall not bad if you drink it mixed with cold water very quickly. Keep a tube of A&D ointment close by to keep from being irritated and trust me, use the ointment BEFORE you need it as a preventative. Suprep worked very quickly, within ten minutes on the first dose, within twenty on the second dose. Lasts about three hours for me. I also got very chilled during this process.

I also had the chills and shaking. Very upsetting.

I am having my first colonoscopy tomorrow morning at 7:45. I started my prep at 2:00pm. It tasted like medicine but it wasn't unbearable. I didn't have any problems keeping it down. Although I would use cold water and in between sips, I drank some regular water to wash taste away.

I hadn't prechilled so added about 6 ice cubes and let them dissolve for awhile. It already has a fruity flavor so adding more flavorings might be too much.

I drank about 4 oz at a time. Sucking on an ice cube inbetween helped with the salty flavor. No naseau going down. That's later when they have you drink more water. I think their plan is to get the goo through your stomach and dilute it once it's past the point of no return. Took 1.25 hours to go through.

Beats drinking half a gallon like we used to do. With a stomach-emptying drug that gave me temporary Parkinsons. (Benadryl was the antidote.)

Now having taken the morning dose, it was a lot tougher to keep down. I recommend having ginger ale on hand.

I suggest you keep a small glass of apple juice next to the prep so in between gulping down the mix you can take a swig of the sweet that clears your taste buds of awful fruity salt.

I just took the first suprep and like some others, it was very difficult to get down. QUESTION: Is the second round needed if everything is 'clear'? I've been on an almost clear liquid diet for the past 5 days, so there's just not that much to clean?

3 hours and counting until my first encounter with Suprep. I have had 2 colonoscopys in the last 10 years using other agents like Go Lightly to get the job done. My doctor told me this will taste like cough syrup. My first procedure I was told the prep would taste like a Margarita if I added Limeade so I am just a tad skeptical.I really do appreciate the posts especially those with helpful hints on what worked for them. I am not planning on having any results out of the ordinary and hopefully will be able to post my opinions of the "event" afterwards.

Ok...Just did the prep for the evening. I took the advice of one of the posters and did Ambesol before drinking, Not sure what it would have been without but was I barely tasted anything except liquid going down my throat. The prep went down in 2 big swigs...maybe a little more than a minute I aso used tap water that was running for about 40 seconds before filling the cup I bought lemons, straws and everything else imaginable but only used the Ambesol. I am on my second bottle of water and am truly amazed that is has gone so smoothly so.I'll keep you posted.

waiting for the Suprep to work...took my first dose about 45 minutes ago. Alternated each swig with sucking on a lime slice. The lime helps counteract the sweetness of the Suprep. Wasn't too bad, but I am only 45 mins in.

The taste is awful! I did use a straw and that really didn't help much? I took my first dose at 4:15 and was in the bathroom within 20 minutes....by 5:30 it was clear. This may be due to the fact that I have not had any meat, fish or chicken all week, not sure. Doing the second dose at 9:30 and hoping all is truly clear! Not looking forward to the taste (wish I wld have known about the ambesol) procedure is tomorrow, need to check in at 7:00am and am scheduled at 8:30. Good luck to everyone!

Took my first dose at 3 finished all the water and nothing happening yet. I almost threw up the prep didn't see these posts about Anbesol prior. Is it normal that it hadn't started working yet anyone know!

I was worried because of all the reviews that it was going to be awful but I am here to say it isn't a horrible for experience for everyone.

First off I agree that since I eat healthy normally (lots of veggies and protein not too much crap or carbs) this may have helped me.

I mixed it as instructed and was able to chug the beverage down in two big gulps. It tasted like a bad cough syrup but I have done gross beverages to check for gestational diabetes and it wasn't so bad I couldn't get it down. Tasted like a cough syrup with a salty after taste. I did not vomit or have any issue keeping it down. I drank the two glasses of water right after within a half an hour.

It took about an hour to take effect and it was not crazy explosive like others said. I just had watery diaherra and it did it's job. I took it at 5 pm and was in bed by 10:30 pm.

I repeated it is the morning and it was the same.

It cleaned me out but it was not awful. I wouldn't suggest making plans and stay near a bathroom but besides that it wasn't as bad as other reviewers had stated

I took the first dose of Suprep at 9:30PM and the taste was nothing like i was told to expect. It tasted like weak grape cough syrup. I filled the cup with water and drank that at 9:45PM when I first went to the bathroom. Honestly it's not as bad as people have said, I was in the bathroom until 11:50PM and asleep by 12:45AM. None of the explosive parts people spoke of, but I did experience minor stomach discomfort for 5 minutes after I drank dose one. The morning dose has been pretty similar sans the stomach discomfort. All in all not even close to a *bad* experience, this is not to say it was fun by any stretch.
