Sun Zolpidem Er 12.5
UpdatedFor about a year now my Walgreens Pharmacy has only been able to get the Sun brand, and even that is often on back order. Several times I’ve had a bottle that several of the pills just dont work. Has anyone else had this experience? I’ve had other brands that seemed to work better but don’t remember the makers.
A friend told me that he has experienced this issue as has his sister, but he didn’t know the maker. Does anyone have a brand that works better than others?

Simply put, the ER formulations for me never helped much only instant release did and worked very well...much much better than the Extended Release. Ask the Doctor for a low dosage of the Immediate release, if they will do that. It seems the ER formula isnt working for you. I was also taking the 12.5. Not anymore because they dont work.
There is no way to say that there is any one good product from any specific manufacturer, because we are all different.
Zolpidem is also known for helping people fall asleep, but not helping them stay asleep, which is why the time released works better for some people, since it keeps inducing sleep over a period of time.
Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, sleep actions, hallucinations, and next day hangover-like effects.
Was there anything else different about the says it didn't work, such as more caffeine, a change in your activity levels, or etc.?
My Walgreens has also been dispensing Sun Pharma ER 12.5. They just don’t work well for me. I now go to another pharmacy just to fill this one script. I don’t know the names off hand but I’ve received round blue pills or light pink which work much better. I only get about 4 hours of solid sleep but it’s still better than the Sun brand.
I have taken 12.5 for 15 years. Never had any problems. In January my pharmacy changed to Sun ER and it’s been horrible. My doctor wants to change my dosage because of FDA warnings and is now giving me Trazadone on top of the Sun generic which is leaving me feeling lousy. Tired and groggy all the next day. Waiting on the results of a sleep study as well. The problem is the generic brand. Lupin and Winthrop 12.5 work very well for me. I don’t have sleep apnea nor do I have a tolerance built up. I have a nasty generic that doesn’t work. In 15 years I would go right to sleep, stay asleep for 7 hours and wake up refreshed. No side effects. All of my issues began in January when the pharmacy started giving me the Sun generic. Worthless stuff.

I am got the same 12.5 from Sun Pharma this month. I don't like them either and I am also wondering about the markings as mine are kind of weird....did your pills have some with the "308" marking on the white side of the pill and some with the "308" marking on the yellow side? Also, some of the "308" ink imprints are ridiculously off center and look like a 3yr old stamped the "308" on 1/2 the pills I got.
I tried looking for pictures of this Sun pharma generic and I'm only seeing pics of the "308" imprint on the white side. I can understand how they might put the "308" imprint/marking on either side, but what gets me is how off center some of them are. I mean I'd think producing any medication on a mass scale would subject the pills to the exact same process of being marked with the unique letters and numbers required by the FDA for identification purposes.
Re: Shelly (# 4)
Same experience now have 90 day supply sadly, pharmacy and mail order out of the blue (don’t recall tame).
Re: Shelly (# 4)
I saw your post and I experience the same thing with Sun not working. Ambien which is the brand name works excellent but the price tag is outrageous which led me to do research. Sanofi which makes Ambien also made Zopliem through their generic company Winthrop pharma which is an authorized generic (which is essentially the same drug produced by their generic manufacturer and it works the same as Ambien).
However I was informed a couple weeks ago that Sanofi discontinued Winthrop brand which is more affordable. I recently did a petition from Sanofi to bring back Winthrop so millions of people rely on this drug to have a great night of sleep. Since u said Lupin works better, call your mail script company and they can order. But please fill out the petition so we can possibly get Sanofi to produce back Winthrop brand which is same active and in active ingredients as Ambein. https://chng.it/XPDCqjwrcp
