I was prescribed sulfatrim DS for a minor bladder infection. Today is my second day taking it (fourth dose). I am now experiencing weakness, anxiety, minor headache, some itching of the skin, achy muscles and joints, pounding in chest, and just a general sense of illness. I'm wondering if these are severe side effects and if I should go to the ER right away or if it is ok and after I finish the antibiotics tomorrow these symptoms will go away?

Hello, Emma! How are you feeling? Sorry about the problems that you're experiencing.
The itchiness is the red flag here, it could be due to an allergic reaction, which does occur in a fairly large percentage of people that take a sulfa drug.
Have you consulted your doctor? You need to do so, as soon as possible. If it is an allergic reaction to this medication, it will usually just continue to get worse, which is something I learned from experience.
