Got the headache first then my teeth and gums started hurting. Eardrums are sensitive to sound and eyes hurt and I have 15 days to go. I will cut in half for now but never again will I take this crap.

I started this stuff yesterday for a UTI. I've taken it before and I had no side effects, well this time of taking it I have bad diarreah and hot sweats and it makes my stomach make these weird noises and it also bubbles up. This all hit me last night at like 1 in the morning. I called my doctor and a nurse answered the phone so I'm waiting for a call back from my doctor. I felt way better when I wasn't on this antibiotic by just laying in bed and sleeping and relaxing. I can honestly say I'd rather have a small UTI than take this deathly pill. I literally think this is poison because it's awful. If I was a doctor I wouldn't recommend it to anybody! Good luck to anybody who takes it. Hope you all feel better :)

Hi, i just started taking sulfameth for a brown recluse spider bite and i shake real bad, have trouble breathing, sore throat, am dizzy, have horrible headaches, trouble sleeping, a rash on my arm, and last night 20 mins after i took the pill a threw up so vilently that i puked up blood. My dad tells me to keep taking the pil, but should i stop?

I was just prescribed this medication and Im feeling somewhat dizzy and light headed. I take 2 pills twice a day. Not really sure if its helping me though. I think I was bit by a spider and have a huge area on my leg that is infected. And it keeps spreading. the skin in the center is black and really hard. Based on what Im reading, i dont know if I was prescribed the right medication....What do you think

I have been taking this med.28 days for inflamed prostate.Now I am sick with nausea,and no appetite.4 pills left on 30 day course.Should I discontinue?

I too am experiencing the same issues as everyone else. Headache, tossing and turning through the night, loss of appetite, I'm supposed to take 2 every 8 hours but I am definitelh going to change It!

I just started using this medicine and on about the thrid day of using it I recieved one of the worst headaches I've ever had and I also threw up twice during the headache. I have also expirened fatigue and loss of appetite during the days I took the medicine. I'm going to ask for a new antibiotic.

I concure. No sleep and jitters. Feel like I am coming out of my skin. Called the Dr and he changed my med 2 days ago but I still feel like crap. It takes 3 or 4 days to get it out of your system. NEVER AGAIN.

I have had the same problem. I am only sleeping about 4 hours and then can't stay in bed. I am restless and feeling shaky. Kind of like a very poor high. Not a great feeling., Am asking for a differert drug.

well, did you take both those tablets at the same time? or is it spaced out? typicly the regular "dose" is just one pill cause its such a strong antibiotic

i just took my last dose of this stuff :/ funny thing is, about 4 hours before i took it, i started getting really itchy. checked why, and of course i had a rash :/ ive had the headaches like most others on here, along with fatigue. but this itching is the worse itching ive ever had :/ first thing to itch was my feet, then my hands and face (which wasnt as bad). ive also got the rash on my back, arms, and legs. but from what ive seen here, apparently theres not much i can do XD im done with the meds anyways, so i cant stop taking it, its already gone. however i did take some store brand allergy medicine and it helped the itching and made me a little less...groggy XD still a little itchy but its dealable now ^^ ill be going to the doctor first thing in the morning though, cause i was taking it for a staph infection and they said they wanted to make sure it was taking effect, which personally i think its gone :/ if i ever get another staph infection, and they decides to prescibe me this again, i wont let them cause this is rediculous >.< last day of my meds and i break out :(

I started this medicine, Sulfameth/Trimethoprim 800/160 Tabs, on Friday night because I suffer from sinus infections, what seems like every other week. So, I am supposed to take 2 tablets by mouth, daily, for exactly one month, to try to knock the infection out for good.
At first, things were okay, I started getting little headaches but I blamed the sinus infection. Yesterday, I noticed that I wasn't really hungry and I was a little shakey now and then but I didn't really think twice about it. Last night, I went to bed early and wasn't able to fall asleep. I tossed and turned and sweat profusely and then woke up with a slight headache. I also had weird, probably the most vivid dreams I have had in awhile. I can also feel two bumps on the right and left side of my tongue, underneath it, in the way, way back. After taking my seventh dose this morning, I got the worst headache. (I also suffer from monthly migraines and this headache was right up there with one of them.)
This is only day four and I'm supposed to take it for a month. Should I stop now? After reading people's experiences, I'm really questioning whether or not I should continue. No rash, no fever, no diarrhea, no vomiting (yet); this headache was bad enough and at the moment, I'd rather suffer with a sinus infection than what I had just experienced for the past eight hours.
From past experiences with say, a Z-pack, my sinus infections/pain have gone away after starting it and had never erupted into crippling headaches like today's.
Advice? My next scheduled dose is in 6 hours, should I take it and really see if it's the medicine or stop now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on that right now too and I had headaches for the first couple of days. I think that was from the UTI though, not the meds, because I had the headache before I got the antibiotic. Not a scientific response but that's my 2 cents!

I took Sulfameth twice daily from about Jan 3 to Jan 9. On Jan 13 I developed a mild measle like rash over all of my body except me head and my are red all over. Nothing hurts. I have pain or fever. My doctor on Jan 14 thinks this is a delayed reaction to Sulfameth medication. Does that make sense? As of now Jan 16 I have the same rash but it seems to be going away in that the red color is fading. Only other out of kilter is my blood sugar reading I take each morning. It went from 132 yesterday to 212 today. Took 2 more reading and both were even higher. I have a call into Free style maker of the unit that provides my blood sugar reading to see if they think unit is running correctly.

I woke up with a small bump on the side of my right knee. A day later the bump appeared on the side of my left arm, didn't think nothing of it mayb a spider I'v got bitten b4 nothing happend. Size of a baseball red, tender swollen, and, very, very painful. Three days now ended in te emergency room. I was prescribed sulfameth/trimethotrim 800/160. They told me Cellulitis. Please help.

If your having serious side affects to this medication, i would go to the ER, or call your doctor, if the doctor is not willing to help, go talk to another. I to was put on this medication for UTI. Was nauseous, chills, felt like my chest and back was on fire ( no fever ) aches and pains in my back, sometimes so badly i couldn't sit long periods of time. Me personally, i think this drug has sent me down a spiral of problems, i have never been the same since. I took the drug four months ago, and still having troubles with aches, hot spots, nervousness, anxiety, fatigue, weakness and i'm always tired.I had all sorts of tests, nobody can find out what is wrong. not all people might experience what i have, just here to make a statement and tell my story. but if you feel this drug is harming you, then seek help or do what you feel is best for you, only you know your own body. taking this medication for 3 days now and I'm feeling very bloated, sick to my stocmach, dizzy, and no appetite. I have waken up with a spliting headache for the last couple of days! This is the "generic" form of a antibiotic. Why so many folks having issues with this medication?

Was prescribed Sulfameth/Trimethoprim 800/160 tabs (generic AMNEAL version for Bactrim DS tablets). Took them for 4 days and the diahrea started. Contacted doctor and he said it was O.K. to continue. I did, then after completing the 7th day - - OMG! I began to feel major bloating in my stomach then the vomiting started! I have NEVER vomited so profusely in my entire life! It looked like coffee and I don't drink coffee! I thought I was gonna die! I haven't taken another pill since and a day later I'm still feeling a headache and I ache all over like I have the flu (which I know I don't) I will NEVER take this drug again and I will not finish the last 3 days of it. This drug is TOXIC, TOXIC, TOXIC!!!!! I do not recommend it to anyone! I was prescribed this drug due to swelling I noticed on my neck glands and some sores I noticed under my neck, which the doctor decribed as "staph." Wondering if I should take Benadryl just to get it out of my system.

Sulfameth / Trimethoprim 800mg; I'm have continuous rumbling bumbling in my stomach & lower track along with diarrhea & soft gassy stool. After food intake I feel bloated followed with stomach pains. I’ve reduced my intake to near zero with little help.
