My friend just started abusing the subutex pills and now after 2 pills in 2 days his nasal passages are very swollen and he's having a difficult time breathing from his nose. Did the subutex cause this problem? ## If he was taking them improperly, or if he's allergic to them, then yes, they may have caused this. Has he sought medical attention? If it swells more or spreads to his throat, it could put his life in danger. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How is he doing, now? ## REALLY!!! What you are saying is that your friend is smashing up his subs and insufflating them and now he has sinus issues. Hmmm??? I can...

A friend of mine told me her pharmacy told her they were going to be only getting the small round generic subutex tablets. I have always gotten the big ones. I do not like the small ones, I don't abuse them. So has anyone else heard that they are going to quit making the round generic 54 411 suburex ?? ## @lifesaver, There haven't been any official announcements from the FDA or drug companies regarding the discontinuation of this pill. So I'm not sure where your friend heard this information, but it's possible that it may not be public news yet if she recently got these details in advance from someone within the company. The manufacturer of this specific pill is Roxane Laboratories, Inc. I would suggest contacting them directly for a more accurate answer on what their fu...

Why do people stay on suboxone for long periods of time? I was on 8 , 10/325s a day for 6months, and I was able to get off opiates with 2, 8 mg pills of suboxone. I took a whole pill (8mg) the first day, 1/2 (4mg) the next day, 1/4 (2mg) the 3rd day, and I stopped taking it. I saved 2mg just in case I withdrew. But I had little to no wd's. I would relapse a few months later for about two weeks. And was able to get off the opiate with just one 8mg sub. By taking a 1/2, a 1/4, an 1/8, and an 1/8 the 4th day. No wds. Knowing I had access to the subs gave me a way to use the opiates recreationally cuz it felt good. Kinda wish it wasn't available. But if it wasn't, I'd be stuck on the opiate. Thankfully I haven't used in 16 months cuz it can get expensive. :-\ ## well I a...

I have read on several different forums that you can get "very high" injecting Subutex. First, whoever is posting this bogus info is going to get some poor fool killed trying. Speaking from an expert position- You do NOT get high. Subutex has a ceiling, you will kill yourself before you ever get high. Taking too much will stop your breathing and you will die! Subutex is a very powerful drug and its easy to OD on. It only partially blocks your receptors. Whereas an agonist causes an action, an antagonist blocks the action of the agonist and an ... a given receptor, but have only partial efficacy at the receptor relative to a full agonist. So, you can't get high. I get so angry when I see people posting BS like that because people kill themselves trying. I have seen two men st...

I recently moved to another state, I'm been on subxone for 7 months and now I have no insurance at all, I paid 300$ to see a Dr. I received a free cupon for 15 Zubsolve and I went back to my Dr. He put me on Subutex for 1 month because its cheaper then the strips! I have my script and I went to one Pharmacy and its 320.00 for 48 of them.. I know its cheaper then 450.00 for my strips. I'm having trouble paying for my script. I can get generic for too but I do not know where to fill them. I heard that some pharmacies may charge as low as 2$ a pill but I'm having a hard time finding one. Just thought maybe someone might know of a place or Drug company that has assistance with help.. I will be out of my zubsolv in 3 days. I've never been on subutex before. My Dr said just on...

I am really having a hard time finding a doctor who treats with Subutex and not Suboxone. I have chronic pain syndrome and relief-seeking behavior soon became drug-seeking behavior. My psychiatrist put me on Subutex, and my pain was reduced a little, but I wasn't so much into drug seeking anymore. I was treated for 5 years. Then I moved, and I can't find anyone in Ohio who does this. I might have to move back to Chicago! Any suggestions? ## What is your particular issue with using Suboxone, rather than Subutex? They both contain the exact same narcotic to treat pain and/or addiction, Buprenorphine. The only difference is that the Suboxone also contains Naloxone, to help prevent someone from abusing other narcotics, while they are using it. If you are no longer having a problem w...

Hey guys so I have Hep C and cannot find a doc in my area to prescribe me subutex unless you're prego or breast feeding which neither applies. I have been clean from the needle for almost 3 years now due to subutex. When I can't find subutex i'll at last resort take suboxone but it gives me the absolute worst migraine and as soon as I stick it in my mouth I throw up. So it's basically pointless for me to spend my money on it. I know of a few people that say docs in harriman, Knoxville or MT Juliet Tennessee will prescribe subutex to hep c patients because suboxone is not good for someone with hep c. Please help. Any advice? Any doctors that anyone with hep c have used that knows the doc will prescribe subutex? No I do not abuse them, I take them as prescribed. I don'...

Hello, I am currently 32 weeks pregnant, I am prescribed 10 mg Subutex a day, but really only take an average of 4 mg a day, sometimes less. I really had my mind set on coming off completely before I deliver and my doctor is 100% ok with me doing that if I feel comfortable doing it myself. I'm looking for success stories. So if you tapered off while pregnant please, your reassurance would mean so much to me. I have trouble sleeping because my guilt eats me alive ?? Please let me know there is hope and that coming off subutex completely before delievering my baby girl is possible! Thank you! -B ## Hey i see there's no replies yet but i wanted to offer some words, not sure if ill help much. My daughter is 15 months. My Dr has been holding my meds. If I miss a day at the clinic then as punishment they hold the following day's worth, but from my understanding they should not be doing that while I'm pregnant? ## While it may not be the best thing to do, while someone is pregnant, no doctor is required to provide you with any treatment, or medication, unless you, or your baby are in immediate life threatening danger. Thus, they can refuse to treat you, or provide a medication, any time they see fit. I know this doesn't help you, I'm just telling you the way the laws currently stand. Why have you been missing appointments? Are they not willing to accommodate you for when you need to go in? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effec...

Need a Dr that wtDN Will prescribe subutexsubutex isubutexsubutisubutexsubut I live in Greeneville, TN Close by like Johnson City, Tn ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? Technically, any doctor that can prescribe medications could prescribe it. However, what type of doctor you need depends on why you need to take it. Are you looking for addiction treatment, or pain management? For addiction, most doctors will prefer to prescribe Suboxone, to prevent the abuse of other opiates, while someone is being treated with it. Doctors that treat with it can be found using the search feature on the website Suboxone.com click here. If it is for pain management, then you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that might be able to refer you to someone? This is a narcot...

Hi!! I need a doctor that will prescribe me subutex in Tucson, Az. I recently found out I'm 10 weeks pregnant and have an existing opioid addiction. My only concern is the well being of my unborn baby. I'm having a very hard time finding a doctor that will help with subutex and not suboxen, subutex is safer for the baby. I have Care 1st insurance can anyone please help me!!!! ## Once they receive information that you are confirmed as being pregnant from your OBGyn, there should not be any problem with them prescribing Subutex, it may just take a brief period for any given doctor to receive your medical records. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, headache, and dry mouth. A...

I've never seen these before and want to make sure it's the right thing. They are orange surf board shaped pills and have the number 14 on one side. Is there a subutex pill that looks like this? ## There are orange surf board but they don't have a 14 on them. Just google them.

I take the white subutex, most doctors do not prescribe for long term due to potential abuse. I like them better due to no side effects and taste. I also weaned off more then a couple times due to surgeries. Each time takes about 3 months and pretty much no pain, only for maybe a couple days of no sleep, but that is okay compared to the others. Plus I have a great doctor (not the sub doc) but my Internal Med doc. It always helps when your doctor is cool as mine! He is not judgmental at all.

I'm on pre gablin 200mg twice a day how long do I leave it before starting subutex ive been on pre gablin for 6 weeks ## Hello, Gav! How are you? There is no need to worry about taking Pregabalin and switching to Subutex, since Pregabalin is not an opiate. Some people even take it with Suboxone, or Subutex. The FDA warns that Subutex carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help? ## Iv just started 2day on 4mg subetex how long will it take for my body to get used to the change i was on methodone and took last dose sunday n started subetex 2day monday i also take gabapentin will that help with withdrawl

I take subutex for opiate addiction but I'm still in chronic pain. Will oxymorphone be blocked by buprenorphine in subutex like it blocks other full opiate agonists? ## Hello, Robin! How are you? No, it isn't the Buprenorphine that blocks anything. I believe you're actually thinking of Suboxone, which contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone, it is the Naloxone that blocks other opiates, not the Buprenorphine. Subutex doesn't contain the Naloxone, so it doesn't block them. Oxymorphone is also a very potent narcotic, so you shouldn't take it, without your doctor's approval and supervision. If you're being treated for addiction, it may also be against the rules of your treatment contract. Is there anything else I can help with? *These medications carry the risk ...

Question: I'm in a program and receive Subutex (buprenorphine) from the Dr., 8 mg. I take one and a half pills 20 days out of the month, but for reasons I do not wish to disclose, the last ten days of the month I only had about 1 and a half pills to last me, so I'd say for the past ten days I've been taking about 1 mg a day. My question is, will that be enough to show up on my drug screen? Will it show that I have buprenorphine in my urine? I had two pills left on Friday, and my drug test is this Monday, ten days later. Thank you, please reply asap if possible. ## They would be able to tell by the levels of buep in your system. It would still be detected if you have been taking it for a while but not what would be required (the 1 and a half a day) ## It depends what type of ...
