Subutex Not Suboxone Doctors Who Prescribe It In Slc, Ut

I am a opiate addict trying to get clean, but suboxone has always made my withdrawal symptoms worse so I need help finding a doctor that can prescribe subutex instead of suboxone. My life dearly depends on it so please help me find a doctor asap. Thanks so much.

Hello, Brandi! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've been having.

However, worsening withdrawals, or precipitated withdrawals can occur with both of these medications. They both contain Buprenorphine, which takes a stronger hold on your opiate receptors than other opiates that are available, so they tend to kick out any residual opiates that are there and take their place, as reported by the NIH.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Additionally, it is now recommended that Subutex only be prescribed for pregnant woman, unless someone has a severe allergy to it, so most doctors will not switch their patients, and those that have already switched are being switched back.

What opiate were you abusing and how much Suboxone were you taking?

I waited 24 hours after opiates before taking suboxone and I still went into withdrawal but only way worse.

Thanks for the information. I am taking heroin and I consume at least one to two grams a day, but when I took suboxone I took a half a strip the first time and one full strip the second time. But it seems the more I consume the more my withdrawal symptoms are worse. Am I not taking it right? Is that why its not working for me?
