Hello, Deb! How are you and your grandkids?
You should check with his doctor first, but in theory there shouldn't be anything wrong with doing so… however, you may end up running the other child short on their medication.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, anxiety, headache and hypotension.
