I am a diabetic type 2 patient for the last 20 yrs. My present age is 71 yrs. I am presently taking 3 glynesse mf (500 mg per tab) per day and half of Pioz 15mg per day. I have learnt that pioz contains pioglitazone which may cause urinary cancer. Please advice me an alternate of pioz.

I am a diabetic for the past 14 years. Have also undergone angioplasty having 80% blockage. My medication for diabetes was Gemer P2. However the doctor has changed it and now I am on Gemer2 + Poiz 15, Glucobay M15, and Glucobay 15. For blood pressure I take Amlopin M and Tazloc 40. I have noticed that I am putting on weight despite reduced food intake avoiding any carbs. I INTEND to stop taking Pioz 15. My sugar test if I randomly take it is FBS 125-130 and PP 145-150. Is it okay if I stop taking Pioz 15?
