Suboxone Taper Question/fears

I've been on 12mg/day sub for 6 plus years and hate this demon drug. My life is a mess and I desperately want to get off this slow ugly spiral. Anyway here is my situation: my doctor retires in December and i don't want to find another one, so is it possible to taper off 12mg to 0 successfully between now and then? I haven't asked to taper before now out of fear. Before I went back to 12mg 6yrs ago I tried a slow taper and it failed. I think I'm ready now, I hate this drug with a passion. Is it possible??

Yes, it is possible, whether or not it will work for you, however, is a different matter entirely. Some people are able to stop such a medication cold turkey, or via a very rapid taper, with no major problems, it really depends on the person.

Have you spoken to your doctor yet to see what he advises?
