I would like to know if I can take Suboxone for 3 or 4 days to wean off my heroin addiction? I don't want to replace one habit for another. Will I be alright?

It would help with the dependency in the short term (keeping you from the dreaded sickness) but three days ain't enough. Then, you have to deal with the addiction after the dependency, which your 3 or 4 days of subs won't help with at all. Make a plan and stick to it. I tried getting off Oxy with Subs and it was completely ineffective. When I finally got sober it was from Oxy, Subs, and Clonazepam because the "doctor" couldn't help me in jail. I would have NEVER got truly clean. I'd still be paying that doctor cash for subs if I hadn't hit rock bottom. Thank God for rock bottom.

I was currently using H for 3 weeks... i'm an addict and I relapsed. About three years ago I went to rehab..NO LUCK. Today will be my first day with no subs. I did the short taper I started 4 days ago. I'm feeling FINE!! I also got me enough Xanax to last me for 2 weeks to help. I have withdrawaled from heroin quite a few times...STUPID ME!! But let me tell you Any benzo will help if you have NOTHING else to help the wd from opiates!!!

Hey this is my first or I should say newest detox from heroin period....I took my last bag at night that way I knew I would atleast sleep a lot of the night away, then once I woke up I waited until about dinner time, that's when I took a quarter of a sub, then another quarter soon after. I added benzos (klipins) in the mix and its really helping. I'm not 100%, but its day 5 and I'm actually getting up in the morning after sleep! I say don't wait until you're super sick to take that first dose, but make sure you did start to feel the craving..... and WATER WATER WATER!!!!! HELPS!!!! good luck, you can do it : )

Yes def. Have to wait until you start feeling withdrawls I think I would wait at least 15-16 hours or just to be sure 24 hours. Hope you do it... it is horrible but you can do it and you will be free of it! Just accept your gonna feel like crap for a couple days...

I do what I call my rapid detox, I get six subs and taper myself off of dope with them and then have no problem staying clean for awhile afterwards minus the craving every once in awhile (usually I relapse by choice, longest I've stayed clean is 2 years but then life turned to s*** so I got back on dope) but anyways, I'm on 6 8mg subs, take a full one days 1,2,3 then half of one for days ",4,5,6,7," then quarter of one for days 8,9,10,11,and then boom! None after that....no sub withdrawal, no dope withdrawal, nothing. Given, it takes some mental strength to resist temptation once done with the subs, but this method eliminates all physical discomfort from the getting sober process....picking you up out of addiction and dropping you off feeling fresh and positive on the other side. Now, I had a friend use this method and he said about 2days after stopping subs his joints ached a bit (I attributed this to his body still re-regulating the dopamine/serotonin production) but he started taking naproxen (Aleve) every 4 hrs afterwards and it stopped hurting. Also, I would recommend getting a few 20/30mg adderalls for the transition cause it will help you find something to do with your time which will be the key to staying clean. I hope this helps!!!

Do you need to use the word junkie?and i beleive if the persone has only been taken it a short time then u can take a couple of pills a day for 3/4 days as i done it with codine tablets and diazapam

start with a half a strip and see how that feels after about an hour. (make sure you waited the 24 hours before you take it!) If you do take it too early and have a participated withdraw, don't panic it only lasts about 30 minutes.

Each sub lasts about 24 hours so if you feel good after a half strip wait 24 hours before taking the other half. Then every 24 hours cut the dose in half again. you will feel absolutely no withdraws and you probably wont develop an addiction to the subs.

I have a half a strip and 1 1/3 pill of subutex Im hoping will work for me. I have 3 days to conquer this beast. It is hell. its a demon inside you and it needs to be defeated! Good Luck!

Thanks you have the only message that actually gives real and good information. I've been looking for the best way to go about precipitated WD for the last hour or two so I dont have to sit around all day and deal with that nonsense. I've been using for the last 2 1/2 years. For the first year I didn't have a problem.

After the first year for like 3 months after that I started taking more because I got hurt at work so I didn't want to deal with it all week so I would randomly take some. Like a dumba** -_-

After that I got really hurt not just some nonsense back sprain I fell while I was working and fell 13 feet straight onto by lower back and I literally had to crawl across the transit yard a half a mile to my car and when I got home I got into my bed and did not move from it for a week. Needless to say I was in a excruciating amount to pain and I was taking 1-2 bricks every other day.

The last few months I've wanted to cut down so I stopped doing 2 bricks a day and now I'm down to 1 brick every other day and I'm just sick of doing this anymore. I don't wanna waste my money on it. I'm going to eventually have to go to a rehab I think in July because of idrc for a dui that I was completely sober for and blew a .01 in the breathalyzer so they drug tested me and found a tiny amount of marijuana in it but that's a whole other story. Anyway I just got this surface pro 3 and it has one note so now I can write down the time of each bag I do so I can make sure I'm actually waiting longer to do each bag so I can actually cut down. But thanks again you posted exactly what I was trying to find.

I have been addicted to heroin and am awaiting my doctor's appointment. I don't want to kill myself via od, so I filled a prescription for round white pills with 93 5721 containing 8mgs of Buprenorphine hydrochloride + 2mgs of Naloxone hydrochloride.

Ok so today is day 3 for me taking suboxone films, 1/2 a day... Can I lower my dose tomorrow and try to quit completely before I get addicted??? I'm really scared of having withdrawals again... Is there anything I can't take for withdrawals??

I started using heroin when I was 20 years old. I am now 50 and I have used off and on. I went to rehab 3 years ago, and relapsed with a year. The rehab put me on suboxone, first 4 and then 8. I keep going back to heroin. It has destroyed my health and mentally I can't take it. I want to get back on suboxone. I get so sick every time I get back on it. Am I not waiting long enough off of heroin before I start the suboxone, or what. I am so sick of this. I have done this my whole adult life. I want to stop it all. What should I do to get through the heroin withdrawals? I may have started the suboxone too soon. I am sicker than a dog. Puking, and hot sweats, cold sweats and I cannot sleep at all. What can I do to feel better?

suboxone withdrawls take longer than heroin, but from what i gather they aren't as gnarly. i jumped off at 2 mg after a week, and just made myself go to work, and do positive things. it's harder somedays than others, but i'm so used to being horribly dopesick that it doesn't really bother me. by day three i got bored of layong around. i get back spasms, and i lose my appetite, but i just drink a lot of water, and force myself to go running/walking for a half hour in the morning and evenings. you just gotta put yourself first, and realize that it's a temporary situation. fortunately i have a job that is easy enough to do regardless of whether i'm sick or not (usually dopesickness is just kind of like fibromyalgia symptoms for me, i don't get a lot of nausea, or flu symptoms).

i'm not in recovery so i smoke weed. it helps with paws. i tend to not smoke when i'm dealing with emotional issues, cause i need to be present to deal with those things. paws can make you kind of a raw nerve, but again, it's only temporary.

hi big ken, I am a heroin addict i inject in my groin have been on it for 3 years and i cold turkeyed last year for 5 months and relapsed!!! so i have been using again since august last year and i have bought 7 8mg suboxone tabs and i have immodium tabs and ltyrosine tabs to do a detox with i have read and read and read so much on suboxone and found varied messages . i sat here this morning eyeing up the suboxone tab and decided id try it tommorow morning as i am wary of starting it but please please tell me what you say is true and i can have a miracle detox and b ok ??? please reply thanks x

No that will not work. Suboxone is not just a easy way out, you can't just take 3 or 4 pills and than be clean. Also this medicine doesn't detox you it just helps out but I have been on Suboxone and know alot of people on it. Some for months and some for years but your average would be about 3 months. So yes, you have to tell your parents your a junkie and actually go to doctor. you cant just but Suboxone from one of your junkie friends, you need to actually take this medicine serious bc it has saved a lot of lives and its nothing to be messed with because it can cause u harm unless under a doctors care! your welcome and god bless u and get clean
