Re: Verwon (# 1)
I have had my share of treatment centers, jail, therapy for 30 yrs. I am 69 and have used both illegal and scripts. Past few years I no longer use hard street drugs. I do have OA of knees shoulder back and in order to function I take oxycodone 10mg 5x/day. I went to college full time 5 yrs. In 40's and am a therapist in nursing home rehab. I had to stop work this yr. So not to place patients in danger by dropping them or whatever. I find myself overdoing my script these past few months as my life has become so stressed with an eminent divorce of 50 yrs. No job no car and having to sell house of 40 yrs. And move. Maybe it's my payback for people have hurt in life. I want to stop the opiates and take suboxone but my doctor doesn't believe in it. Where can I find a place where I can go that route? Any help is appreciated.

That is the name of the Suboxone hotline that will help you find a doctor in your area. And one that is taking patients. Sometimes they will even make phone calls for you on your behalf. It is a great website in a useful tool. Especially when a doctor does go out of practice. However if you have not gone through the detox process or are not in counseling, most doctors will not take you. There are protocols that these doctors have to follow. But I’m sure you already knew that. Look up “here to help.”
They even have a phone number. I’m not gonna look it up for you. But I’m sure you can find it. Are you said the last time I had to find a new doctor you too my doctor making me choose between my maintenance and my epilepsy treatment.
I have done my research very well. Suboxone doctors are just like opiate addicts who call from around the corner at night and say " Psst, I have suboxone for you, but I take no insurance, only cash." No suboxone doctor takes INSURANCE. NONE. If you can afford to pay anywhere from $250-$500 for the first time walk-in they will give you about a weeks worth of strips. They dissolve on the tongue. You will then need to go back the following week for half the price of what they charged you. They must figure if you can pay for opiates, then pay me cash too! There is a website out there that you can go to, i forgot the name but it is out there for Long Island. Forget about the E.A.R's clinic. They want you to take the suboxone but they seemed to have forgotten that they are a clinic, not parole or probation, and these places exploit you as well, they want you to come in patient for counseling anywhere from 2-6 x a week which can be draining on people with no transportation. God, you just gotta hate the way the system works, I do. Do the homework and you will see. My only other suggestion is if you have decent folks who can afford the vitrol or vitatrol shot that you get once a month, that would be awesome. Again, the medical profession does not take insurance but double check on that one. Amazing it's out there and they keep us in the dark about it. I guess it helps to be rich, right"
