I am in the same situation with Medicare and searching for Suboxone pain management that takes Medicare in Portland. Please let me know what you learn in your search.
Not sure if this is helpful as the original posting was from 2012 but I am a case manager and have had to quite a bit of research for my patients with medicare in relationship to suboxone.
The OHSU Richmond clinic 503-418-3900 has taken patients with medicare in the past but may be closed to new patients.
The Oregon Pain Center 503-828-9569 does have a suboxone program for pain and or addiction treatment and does bill medicare
My primary physician has no problem with me taking Suboxon for chronic pain however, he is not allowed to prescribe it for me. It takes a special licensed physician to do this and when my Suboxon prescribing physician relocated, I have Had difficulty finding another physician now who will accept medicare even though my supplemental insurance health plan covers the balance of my visits. I guess all this talk about better serving the public is really a crock! I wish there was some other pain medication that worked as well as Suboxon. I have been to emergency several times because my pain has been so severe and I am limited to the number of inj's. I can have in a period of a year. I am taking Tramadol but it knocks me out more than helping me with the pain. I continue to search and stress over not finding any help.
There is no specific list of doctors that prescribe it for pain management, because actually any doctor can prescribe it for that, just like Methadone.
The specialty lists are just for those that need it for addiction treatment.

However, the problem you may run into is if you are contacting doctors and wanting them to prescribe a specific medication, because most doctors will consider that drug seeking behavior.
The best thing you can do is find a pain management specialist that accepts your Medicare and make sure that they get a full copy of your medical records. If they see what has and hasn't worked for you, as documented by past doctors, they are usually more likely to prescribe accordingly.
