Need a doctor who prescribes suboxone in Indiana - i am on medicaid.

I'm praying for anyone that's battling this monster. People can say what they want, but suboxone has literally saved my life. I don't go to this place anymore but if no one has tried Avon urgent care, then it's worth a try. They took my HIP, before I got insurance through my job. I don't have their number, but they're easy to Google. Don't give up!! I still have rough days but there's nothing better than the peace of mind I have now. It will get better.

Hi tophy... I personally wouldn't recommend changing your insurance until you decide on the doctor that you know you want to go to. If you change it now and then find a doctor that doesn't take your new coverage then you're back to square one. Once you do change it, the process doesn't take long. I think it might've taken a week or even less. You might not have a new card that fast but you can get the policy information that you'll need over the phone. Good luck to you. I'm not an expert but I've been through the struggle.... And am still learning. I know if one day is terrible, the next is going to be better. The one thing that I want to try to emphasize to people, is if you are blessed to find a good doctor, that gives you what you need not to be sick all the time, then please don't get comfortable and end up failing a drug panel. You're welcome tophy!! I'm definitely not an expert at the whole thing but when I had anthem hip, I went to Avon urgent care. Over mentioned them a lot on here, so I'm not sure if you've tried them... But definitely try if you haven't. People complain about different things with them but the fact about it is they take hip and don't require classes. You have to tell them you're going to a counselor but they don't check on it. I have a doctor now that I love but he's not taking any new hip patients , cause he's at his limit. Good for you for going to a Dr recently!!!! Seriously.. You've taken the first step. Don't get discouraged and give up cause you can't find a hip Dr right away. Keep looking till you find one, cause you will find one. Ill let you know if I hear of any others... Good luck and congratulations on taking the first step to normalcy again!!!

Hello I'm so sorry for your struggle. I'm going to one in brownsburg and I'm having to pay monthly but my scripts are free so it's ok. Balances out. He gives you two strips per day for two weeks then you return to pick up hand written script. He is great actually and helps me a lot. Your have to attend some kind of substance abuse counseling once a month but that's all. I have been there for over a year now never had any issues. They do take insurance just at the time I went they wasn't taking mine. They can only take so many on hip so I never tried to since just pay my monthly fee of 200. It's worth it. Think about what we did to get out narcotics or what drug you were on. It's cheaper long run anyways plus no more of the sick withdrawal etc. Dr Momudu is him. It's really easy. Hope this can help.

Bambam. Where are you located? My son has HIP plus and sees a doctor in Louisville by the name of dr. Britt. His phone number is 502-445-6325. Its $225 for the first week $100 for the week after and then 2 weeks later its $125. Then you go monthly and it's $225 a month. My son went to see him they got him in immediately and my son said that he is the best doctor ever he is down to earth and really cares about his patients. He understood my son's situation and only made him pay the $225 for the first month and gave him the whole month supply. They had his pre-authorization done in 24 hours so he got his meds then the very next day for free. They don't have a waiting list so if I were you I would make the trip to Louisville it's very well worth it.

Mommy of 3 I know your in Bloomington but you said you were willing to do anything. Anthem HIP also as you provides transportation; however if it's over 50 miles they have to send a long distance trip approval form over to Anthem to get the ride approved but they will approve it. The following Dr does accept Anthem HIP for the visit and you already know Anthem will cover the script. Please contact Dr. Harishchandra Rathod 1641 S. US Highway 231 Crawfordsville, IN 47933 at 765-307-7146. If you get in and need transportation via your insurance make sure to contact scheduling several days prior to your visit so they can get the approval sent over to Anthem in time to get the trip approved. If you do get in please let me know as I really hope you do so you can get your life back. :)

I am glad that method worked for you but most doctors and I don't mean suboxone doctors would recommend that. The most ideal way according to doctors is to reduce the amount you take by 1/8th of a strip or 1mg a month if you can reduce it by 2mg a month even better. If you taper off a little at a time your body won't even notice that it's missing. But you set yourself up to fail doing it your way. That will not work for the MAJORITY of suboxone patients. I'm a nurse and have been working with people with addiction for a very long time. I'm not an advocate of staying on suboxone for years either. The ideal way to take suboxone and stay clean afterwards is to take the med as prescribed for at least 6 months to a year then talk to your physician about tapering down 1 or 2mg a month. Studies show that this method of tapering off is the most successful for patients to STAY clean after they've been off suboxone. So for others reading this please do NOT try this method of only taking it when you can't stand it anymore. It's dangerous and quite frankly idiotic.

Is anyone close to Anderson? I recently found a Dr, she's a family Dr but does prescribe sub, I called on a Thursday was in office the following Monday. I can give # if anyone wants it, she also takes insurance

If you're just taking the percs I would not use suboxone to get off of them personally! The detox off suboxone is much harder than the detox off the percs! If you read some of the forums on medschat you will see people upset they were put on suboxone to come off pain killers. I'm not sure how you should handle it! I'd see how others did it. Suboxone is very strong medicine. I do wish u the best!

It seems like it's getting harder and harder to find a Suboxone doc and I'm having to drive crazy distances to be seen. I finally found a clinic near Indy that just opened up so luckily was still accepting new patients. I used treatmentmatch.org to find this clinic and I highly recommend that anyone looking for a Sub doc use this website which is completely anonymous and connects you directly with clinics in your area. I also recommend the website suboxone-directory.com or samhsa.gov/treatment-physician-locator as alternative websites to find a doc although I find that these are often outdated and half the physicians listed either aren't accepting new patients or no longer prescribing. Does hip still cover your subs even if the dr doesn't accept it for payment? Meaning you can pay cash for the appointment then use HIP to cover the meds?

I know a dr that doesn't really mind the THC but the office visits are $175 after initial visit and hes a really nice dr. Then ur ins will pay ur Rx. I can give u more info and other drs if u wanna give me ur email..??

I just switched to a doctor named Dr. Case off 10th St. not too far from me...I live in Danville, IN. They will tell u by law they have to "tell" you not to smoke but they even took off THC on their panels they send in to be tested. They seem really cool and laid back...for real. And not too expensive. First visit is $240 but after that its $160 a visit and I got HIP so my Rx is paid. He also gives everyone a Rx for narcan just to have around.... "Just in case"

I live on the Indiana/Kentucky line near Louisville. I came out of an IOP program in Indiana, moved to Florida for 2 months and came back to Indiana for family reasons. This is my second time on Suboxone, after a cocktail mix relapse the 1st time due to depression and chronic pain issues that I suffer with.. What I discovered between the 1st and this time is just how much it helps and how manageable the pain is while taking Suboxone. After doing some research I found that initially it was actually prescribed for pain. I have been prescribed 12/3mg strips a day both times and was able to see a doctor in Florida to continue the medication once I got down there. I came back to Indiana with filled script in hand but am currently waiting on my Medicaid (I am also disabled due to back, hip, leg pain/and some other issues) to kick back in. I have managed to get by on a self imposed smaller dose a day for the sake of having some pain manageability in my life as well as enough that keeps me away from the opioids of choice. I am currently freaking out because I am yet to get a doctor here while waiting on my medical approval. I did and possibly will have to again drive up/around Indy area in order to get a doctor that takes Medicaid. However, I know that, although that list is growing, they are still few and far between. As well, I am willing to pay a reasonable amount (200-300) for Dr visit as long a prior authorization can be done for the prescription. My questions are, is there any recommendations for them in Clark, Harrison, Floyd County Indiana or Louisville area? The other question would be does anyone know of any pain management doc's of facilities that do prescribe it for pain? I'm scared to do any more IOP programs as I fear they will taper my dose before 1) I'm ready and 2) before I am able to have the needed corrective surgery. If any of you have information, ideas or suggestions I would be very grateful.
