Strange Effects From Oxycodone

I have a strange question which I can't really talk about with my doctor. I have been diagnosed as Bipolar. I am on anti depressants, anti psychotics and mood stablizors. I also take oxycodone occasionally but the weird part is it acts like speed in me. I get talkative, energetic and very spastic. It has done this well before I was on any psych drugs so it can't be off of a combo effect. Is it just my brain chemistry is screwed up or is it common?

Medications are known to sometimes cause the opposite of their intended effect in some people that take them, for instance a medication to lower blood pressure could cause further elevations in some people. It's not exactly common, but nor is it really rare, it's kind of in the middle somewhere, according to the FDA.

That said, some people actually start abusing such a medication and become addicted to it, due to experiencing similar effects. Most such experiences are temporary side effects, which go away, once your body gets used to the medication, so people that like such effects may end up taking more and more to try to get those effects back.

It just like when someone experiences a high from a narcotic and they keep wanting to feel it.
