Stopping Risperdal

Hello guys.. im here because i need some help with my health and how to stop medication.. can you pleaze tell me the way to stop risperdal and how often should i reduce the mg's? i take risperdal for one year because of an anxiety episode i had last summer in work.. i take 5 mg and i cant take any longer.. i fell like a zombie.. i lack of motivation for life and feel dizzy and tired all day long.. instead of having energy for running and making sports i smoke all day and do nothing... i have no mental clarity in my mind and instead i feel like im dead... i want to live normal again and start doing things.. i see no result while taking risperdal. i only gain weight and cant think...i want you to help me with my problem by telling me how to stop risperdal since my psychiatrist does not let me reduce it.. i want to stop it and i all of my family wants to only we dont know the way. How much should i reduce and in how long in time every time? Thank you, hope you answer..

The only way I know to stop this medication is by tapering it off VERY slowly. You may have taper it over several months. Please do this with a doctor's blessing. The way I got off Risperdal the first time I took it, I cut the tablet into quarter's and took 3/4 of the original dose for a couple of weeks; then I tapered it to 1/2 of the original dose for a couple of weeks; then I tapered it to 1/4 of the original dose for two weeks. Then I took 1/4 of the original dose it every other day for two weeks. Once I did not feel ANY withdrawal symptoms, I stopped it altogether. I hope this helps. God bless you!
